Fall from Divine Intervention II: Mercenary for the Gods

Got the save.

For Gods only
Spoiler :
Well, in addition to the continuation of my quest line, I will try to be as sneaky as possible in my additions to the Calabim defenses ... yuk yuk yuk :P (I guess this means someone like KenKen or Seon could check to see if its balanced, the more opinions the better right? For instance, I way underestimated my additions to the bannor ... although I PROMISE nothing that outlandish will occur again)

For Divine creations of The One only:
Spoiler :
If no-one thinks that an obsidian gate is overpowered, I would consider adding it back in. I'll be glad to double-check the balance of any changes if someone wants me to.

Sera found life in the city to be crowded. That is not to say it was not enjoyable, but she was in the habit of having acres between herself and her neighbors, not a few yards, and the seeming lack of privacy was alien to her. But the city was also a fascinating place, full of activity and goods she had never seen before. She had even spotted a dark skinned Malakim one day, wandering the streets with several servants in tow. And the Elder Councils here were not merely held in a room of the clan chief's house (which Sera always thought was quite grand), but an entire building. She visited it often, and found a few regulars to the area that she did her best to befriend.

Coming from simple means, Sera found her quarters in the palace to be lavish; the suite she was assigned was as big as her house (minus the stable) back home. She had gotten lost several times the first fortnight she had been living in the palace, partly because of the size, and partly because she really had no destination in mind. She had briefly spoken with Thessalonica, and liked her quiet way almost instantly. She had passed Dora Viconia several times in the hallways (usually while she was lost), but the beautiful Svartalfar looked upon her with a bored expression and half lidded eyes, so that Sera felt awkward around the graceful elf.

The only time Sera was busy was at the council meetings, when the various nobles and diplomats of other countries and gods would discuss the direction of the Hippus people. Thessalonica and Sera frequently were of like mind in these issues, and Sera found herself frequently counting on her for support.

But largely, Sera was free to explore the city. She enjoyed her time at Councils, but found that she was called on to speak less here than in her home. In the city, people had the time and opportunity to devout themselves entirely to a single branch of study, and these people knew their topics much better than a mere farm girl from the hills. But Sera listened and learned, and when a lecture was completed, she spiritedly joined in the debate of the topic, frequently surprising the old men around her with her quick wit. It was an enjoyable time for her, filled with new friends and knowledge.

Sera's silent longing to return to the countryside was soon granted, however. Tasunke requested her presence at court alone, a rarity as the King was almost always busy, and rumor had it war was coming with the Calabim and Illians to the north. Her King instructed Sera to visit the Sepulcher to the west, study it, and report back. Sera had, of course, heard of the Sepulcher. Hippus mothers would scare naughty children with tales of the horrors that were sealed within the tomb. No one approached it, and nature itself seemed to abhor whatever abomination in contained, warping all the land into a black, nightmarish thing for miles around it. At the instruction, a chill went down her spine. But for the first time in months, Sera heard her god's voice. "This is your first task, and the second test of Tasunke's intent. Be mindful of the dangers within, and know that my voice cannot reach you as you near the Broken Sepulcher. Be safe, my daughter."

Sera accepted her King's command and began to prepare for her journey.

OOC: This is part 1, as this was getting long and I have yet to finish.

As the Wind Waker picked up the staff, the air swirled around him, and imbued him with increased power. The words of Tali fill his mind. He seeks out Tasunke.
"Hail, noble leader. I have been granted great blessings by the Wind Godess, but greater responsibility still. It will be our combined responsibility to harness those followers of Tali that have left their posts. In return, I can be a valuable asset on the battlefield commanding hippus forces. My prowess on the battlefield is yet to be tested, although I shall grant you an important and secretive piece of knowlege, which can benefit us all, to prove my immediate usefulness. Do you see the steed on which I rode here? I cannot yet use her in battle, but she gets me where I need to go more quickly. Her beautiful, black, silky coat is near impervious to damage from mundane weaponry. She reminds me of the night, and I have named her Nebula. There is a whole herd of Nebulae in the jungled hills to the north. With these fine horses, we will have an even better advantage on the mobile forces front."

In the distance battlecries and trumpets are sounded off in the Calabim lands. It appears their warriors are rallying to the cause of survival.

For leader of the Hippus
Spoiler :
Upgrade Wind Waking into a horseman. Optional bonus if you manage to find and subdue Tasunke's Handmaiden. Do try to be careful with the Avatar ... Erebus is becoming quite a dangerous place. Nonetheless, Wind Waker feels confident in being battle ready, so there is no direct penalty for his death.

For the Gods
Spoiler :
Added a few Bloodrebels to the Calabim, added a Tali Handmaiden, added a (You dont wanna know) demonic, weak, deseased, enraged, invisible ranger to the calabim, added held archers to the calabim, added buildings to the calabim. For reference, bloodrebels are invisible and weak moroi, usually with burning blood or crazed promo.

Also for Gods only
Spoiler :
Who added the spectres? Just curious is all, didnt see it posted.

Spoiler For Tasunke (and other gods) :
I believe Seon added the spectres.

Also, I think you are being just a bit wicked with the Calabim forces. I can understand why you'd want to boost them, but please do not use invisible units as they will not give Paulus a fair chance to avoid them with the world units of other gods.

I want someone (either Tasunke or someone else) to remove the invisibility promotions from those units. I will suggest that Paulus ignores the save if this is not done.

Okay, new save.

Shreiking Moans are heard from the deepest of Jungles, and the cry of revenge is heard across the vast swaths of wilderness. A crazed demon rises from the now destroyed labratory ... looking for blood.

The Wind Waking was given a vision from Tali that he must be the one to slay this Calabim beast.

@ Tasunke/Paulus
Spoiler :
Bonus reward if Windwaker manages to slay the Experiment gone Horribly Wrong ... which is *somewhat* under calabim control.

@Gods
Spoiler :
I removed the invisibility, and moved the demonic ranger further in the jungle, while changing his AI

Seeing as I'm just back from London, it's time to get another update across. Let's see if I can manage one on Wednesday ;)

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you once again, but I'm not going to make it today - because several pieces of the update I'd already written up were not going to make it in due to other circumstances... unforseen circumstances.

#1. Auric. The !@#%!@#%! cast Stasis. Twenty turns of research and building out the door.
#2. Flauros. Whoever gave him that Infinity Plus One Archer...
#3. Not making it to a religion in time. See #1 for why.

Since Mammon hates stasis, getting in way of development grumble, I will be sending him a curse or two (I always wanted to do this! Take that Auric!)

Unless you are smart enough to trap your enemy (your little sister) inside a room with no doors.

But, pray tell, how can an insane person lock their little sisters inside a room with no doors?

Well ... what about he plays a couple more turns? and I believe it was only 3 archers ;)

I don't see why it has to be 50 turns if it doesnt quite fit the story line.

On second thought ... I must take a look at what I am assuming to be the only surviving archer for the Calabim. By the way, how did the experiment go? I was 50/50 betting on it just getting killed by the animal hordes :/

Ah, and @Diamondeye
Spoiler :
I already removed the invisibility, and I NERFED the bloodrebels and the demonic ranger(experiment) ... what more do ye want? :P

Spoiler Gods :
What more do I want? TOTAL DOMINION!

No, seriously, it looked to me like you had only nerfed the ranger, not the others, from your description.
