.....And they're culture group specific too!!

Well, guys, I know it's been a while, but I haven't been able to upload anything for a month, due to lack of reliable internet connection. That, however, does not mean I haven't been busy.

I created these Mage towers for my FF mod. Basically they become available in the middle ages with the advent of Magic, and once built (at a 270 shield cost), create a mage unit every 15 turns. Mages have enough offensive power to destroy mech infantry and modern armor, but their defense is really low, so a standard Medieval Infantry or longbowman could kill them.

TJedge, I hope this helps fill your mage-tower needs, since you are the one who gave me the idea for making these buildings in the first place.

Anyways, preview and file attached below. In the preview (from left to right) are the American, European, Greco-roman, Mideastern, and Asian designs. The Buildings_large and Buildings_small.pcx files already have all five buildings in the proper order for addition as a culture-specific building. All that's needed to be done is to cut and paste the image into the proper slot on your Buildings_large and Buildings_small.pcx files. Enjoy :)

Awesome. Great work. These will be included in my mod.

Glad you guys like 'em. :D All in all, they took about 48 hours worth of work from start to finish, :crazyeye: so thanks for the compliments.;)

Those are beautiful. Did you make them from scratch?

Yes, they are indeed built from scratch, using Bryce 5. These structures were made from over 150 3d objects each. The only place where I "cheated" abit is with some of the textures. If you'd look close enough, you might be able to recognize some of the textures used in the Counter-Strike maps CS_Italy and DE_Aztec, which I exported from the original game file with Wally, and then imported into Bryce. The rest of the textures are standard Bryce textures that came with the program.

Basically, after building something in 3D, I render it from an angle close to what's used in Civ III, and do the appropriate pallette editing, and insert the sucker into the game. These Wizard Towers, and the other new items that I've uploaded recently are some of my most complex and detailed creations to date, and all of them took at least 6-8 hours per structure. :crazyeye:

Wow that's a lot of work. I appreciate them even more now.

I must say again those are really nice. Too bad city view doesnt work anymore or we could get a better look at them.

Actually, I'm kinda glad the city view's gone, since that's less work I have to do. :p

And TJ, as much work as making these structures is, I'd have to imagine the unit creators have it 10X worse, yet Kinboat and Aaglo keep pumping out an average of about 2-3 units a week. :crazyeye: I don't know how they manage it, but more power to them. :goodjob:
