Fast MGE Succession Game - NO DELAYS!

Gee guys, I'm really sorry for the delay. I'm too pissed right now to type anything. I wrote this big ol' summary in notepad and lost it when my computer got f*****. Sent it to Das.

Okay, I'll write a short description:

Conquered Chinese. Completed Pyramid. Killing Spanish.

Sorry for delay.
In short, people love me. At least, I'm Das II the Meek. People sure like my. I sent game to Shadowdale.
Key Dates of Daniel II's rule (I don't remember good some dates).
20. Daniel II come to power in Moskva.
60. Citizens of Cordoba join Russian empire.
80. First sea expedition ship sunk near small Northern island.
120. Danielgrad founded.
200. Salamis founded. Siege of Madrid begined.
260. Leonardo's workshop founded in Moskva. New project is Lighthouse.
300. Many revvolts begined in Russia. First time of Troubles begined.
360. Madrid falled after long siege. Mainly because of Russian fleet.
380. Northern island (big) discovered.
400. Last rebelion crushed in Salamis. Unfortunatly, rebels slay Daniel II. His best admiral, Shadowdale, appointed to be new tsar.

The rule of Shadowdale the II

As Shadowdale the II was given the crown he soon discovered that many of his citizens were starving and that most of his people where very unsatisfied with the way the Kingdom had been run. So he decided to end the wars with the foreign nations so that he could better concentrate on the problems at home.
So to please the people on the great Russian kingdom he began a great campaign to bring the religion back to the people and temples were constructed in every city. He also decided that it was time for the Russian people to have something to say about the way the Kingdom was rules so he made a parliament and called this new type of government Republic.

Since there where not enough recourses to maintain a large standing army Shadowdale made good use of his diplomats and a few unites and quickly vanquished both the Japanese and the Spanish Civilizations.

Under the wise King Shadowdale the II only a few new cities where founded and only a few new advances where discovered. What marks his reign as one of the golden periods of the great Russian kingdom was the many wonder that where completed and the stability that was brought to the kingdom.

As Shadowdale the II lays in his death bet, and tells his young heir Tim the III about all the things he had accomplished there where a few very important things that he mentioned:

REMEMBER to build some more caravans to increase the trade within the Republic

BEWARE of the Germans that our scout has found on the western island.

WHEN the Russian citizens are ready give them the power over the kingdom, make it a true Democracy.

And with those words he died a happy man, because he knew that he had left behind a legacy that would never be forgotten.

Guys, don't send it too me any more. As I said in the OT forum, I won't be back and active for a while. So now it'll be only 3 people! Even faster! Or you can get another person to replace me.

OK - So Tim, when your done send the game to Das, who will send it to me and I to you.

And let's get it moving............

The Reign of Tim II (Tim The Enricher)

Tim I was called "Tim the Expander" for doubling the size of the young Russian civilization. He was the first Czar of the Russian Monarchy. His descendant, Tim II was known as Tim the Enricher. He was the first president of the Russian Democracy. He enriched the population through trade and the funding of wonders such as Copernicus’s Observatory, SunTzu’s Military Academy (begun by the great Shadowdale II), Adam Smith’s Trading Company, Magellan’s Voyage, Isaac Newton’s College and the Statue of Liberty. He led “project Musket” putting a musketeer unit in every city very early in his term to ensure no backward civilization could ransack our great cities (and steal knowledge of gunpowder). He led a small “diplomatic war” against the pathetic Sioux until the cowardly senate intervened and signed a peace treaty behind his back.

Under his reign gold went from net 98/turn to net 694/turn. Beakers went from 229/turn (tech every 5) to 592 (tech every 3 turns).

Techs researched: Compeleted Democracy (mostly shadowdale’s work), Astronomy, University, Navigation, Economics, Theory of Gravity, Medicine, Chemistry, Explosives. Began researching Bridge building on last turn.

New elections bring a younger, more dynamic leader named DAS III to power.

DAS - The civilization stands at a cross roads as TimII graciously leaves the offices of power. The tools are in place for almost any path you wish to follow:
- Research to the stars: Science city built in edit: MADRID, not Milan (must improve terrain, but wonders are there) I should have built Cope and Newton in either Kharkov or Tivlis, but I just built them in Colossus city out of habit – sorry.
- Naval dominance possible with Lighthouse and Magellan. Build Super Ironclads if you want.
- Fun with Fundy: Fundamentalism is possible with Statue. You can rush build a hundred horsemen at 20 shields a piece, then quick research chivalry and leadership and send dragoons across the planet.
- Continued growth and perfection: Trade routes established in many cities. I’ve been incrementally rush-buying one row/turn on most caravans once they hit more than 10 shields in the box. Happy/luxury improvements starting to be built. Several regional trade centers can receive caravans to spur growth (Madrid, Tiflis, Kharkov, Maikop, etc) in small cities. NOTE: Because of our wonders (thank you shadowdale) our cities could survive in democracy with NO LUXURIES without disorder but only up to size 8 or so. I purposely did not build aquaducts in most cities so I could keep luxuries at zero and rush food and trade caravans and some city improvements while still researching like mad. Also used some cash to buy part of Sioux nation.

Remember...
- Watch the new cities (Ghent, Milan, Pisa, Dublin, Toronto and the Sioux cities) if you stay in democracy. They do not have temples yet.
- Remember if you research Metallurgy, the Great Wall will come down. (not that anyone else has much military force, but if they take one city, they’ll take gunpowder)
- If you build aquaducts (especially if you start celebrating cities) you will probably have to have some happy improvements and/or luxuries

We have 54 engineers employed, but do not yet know how to build a bridge. I just found that odd.

Good luck!

Personally, I say let's get this one over with. The game is won, it's just a matter of style points and civ score. Micromanaging these cities takes me forever (as you may have noticed), so I wouldn't mind if were done before it came back to me, especially now that our founder has moved on.

Well in my short reign, all I really did was destroy the Sioux and Greek Civs and then build Aqueducts, Banks and Colosseum in most of our cities and begin building Factories since I happened to discover some 7-8 new techs!!!

BTW PaleHorse76 would like to take over Vlads place in the line, and I for one vote for him, as I think that he would be a great player!

Well, Tuesday I went through, reviewing all the cities making little adjustments here and there, planning my strategies, and was about to start my turns, then the game crashed. Just load my most recent save, right? Oops, guess I should have done that!

So I had to start over last night.

I will forward the game to Palehorse76 once I get done. Do I just use the email in his profile?

And one other thing: Any reason why we have so many Food trade routes? One small city has two outgoing food routes so it is now starving!

No I haven't got a clue!!!
I was wondering about that myself, and I had to cancel a lot of caravans and disband those that we already had....

Palehorse76, das, and shadowdale:

In case you were wondering, I am making progress. I've just had several things going on so I haven't had much time for civ each night, I had to replay a couple turns due to system crashes, and...oh yeah...I'm still really slow.

Here's the deal: On my very first turn, the senate signed a peace treaty with the Germans, so I just coddled them for a while, But in my last two turns I got them down to only two cities. As soon as I find the last one I was planning to assimilate one and make a pet of the other. So the question is... Should I make a pet city and we continue "perfecting", or should I just take out both cities, claim all the earth for Mother Russia and end the game?

I've got 5 or 6 turns left. Let me know what you think.

Completed my turns (up to 1585). Sent the game to Palehorse76. We have a single pet city, so it's all just growing and perfecting from here on out.

Here's the status message I sent to palehorse76:

We have a single Pet city of Konigsberg. It has NO DEFENDERS, so if you walk into it, the game will end. I currently have the city under siege starving it down. We are currently in fundamentalism because several of the siege troops are from the same couple cities and I think we would get disorder if we went back to democracy right away.

I have been trying to improve the civ across the map by building and rushbuying improvements. Current tax rate is set to 10/50/40 to maximize Fundy science and have We-Love celebrations which give the extra republic/demo trade arrows in most cities. The tithes seem to be giving us enough cash to buy most of what we need for now so we can afford the luxuries.

The cities of Kuibyshev, Magnitogorsk, Issus, Uralsk, Beloyarsk, and Grozny (East side of Main Continent) have been funnelling Food caravans to Novogorod for the few remaining wonders. Novogorod currently has enough caravans for the next Wonder (Cure for Cancer should be available in a couple turns) plus a few extra. Freights in any other cities are intended for trade routes to increase arrows.
