The Reign of Tim II (Tim The Enricher)
Tim I was called "Tim the Expander" for doubling the size of the young Russian civilization. He was the first Czar of the Russian Monarchy. His descendant, Tim II was known as Tim the Enricher. He was the first president of the Russian Democracy. He enriched the population through trade and the funding of wonders such as Copernicuss Observatory, SunTzus Military Academy (begun by the great Shadowdale II), Adam Smiths Trading Company, Magellans Voyage, Isaac Newtons College and the Statue of Liberty. He led project Musket putting a musketeer unit in every city very early in his term to ensure no backward civilization could ransack our great cities (and steal knowledge of gunpowder). He led a small diplomatic war against the pathetic Sioux until the cowardly senate intervened and signed a peace treaty behind his back.
Under his reign gold went from net 98/turn to net 694/turn. Beakers went from 229/turn (tech every 5) to 592 (tech every 3 turns).
Techs researched: Compeleted Democracy (mostly shadowdales work), Astronomy, University, Navigation, Economics, Theory of Gravity, Medicine, Chemistry, Explosives. Began researching Bridge building on last turn.
New elections bring a younger, more dynamic leader named DAS III to power.
DAS - The civilization stands at a cross roads as TimII graciously leaves the offices of power. The tools are in place for almost any path you wish to follow:
- Research to the stars: Science city built in edit: MADRID, not Milan (must improve terrain, but wonders are there) I should have built Cope and Newton in either Kharkov or Tivlis, but I just built them in Colossus city out of habit sorry.
- Naval dominance possible with Lighthouse and Magellan. Build Super Ironclads if you want.
- Fun with Fundy: Fundamentalism is possible with Statue. You can rush build a hundred horsemen at 20 shields a piece, then quick research chivalry and leadership and send dragoons across the planet.
- Continued growth and perfection: Trade routes established in many cities. Ive been incrementally rush-buying one row/turn on most caravans once they hit more than 10 shields in the box. Happy/luxury improvements starting to be built. Several regional trade centers can receive caravans to spur growth (Madrid, Tiflis, Kharkov, Maikop, etc) in small cities. NOTE: Because of our wonders (thank you shadowdale) our cities could survive in democracy with NO LUXURIES without disorder but only up to size 8 or so. I purposely did not build aquaducts in most cities so I could keep luxuries at zero and rush food and trade caravans and some city improvements while still researching like mad. Also used some cash to buy part of Sioux nation.
Remember...
- Watch the new cities (Ghent, Milan, Pisa, Dublin, Toronto and the Sioux cities) if you stay in democracy. They do not have temples yet.
- Remember if you research Metallurgy, the Great Wall will come down. (not that anyone else has much military force, but if they take one city, theyll take gunpowder)
- If you build aquaducts (especially if you start celebrating cities) you will probably have to have some happy improvements and/or luxuries
We have 54 engineers employed, but do not yet know how to build a bridge. I just found that odd.
Good luck!
Personally, I say let's get this one over with. The game is won, it's just a matter of style points and civ score. Micromanaging these cities takes me forever (as you may have noticed), so I wouldn't mind if were done before it came back to me, especially now that our founder has moved on.

DEATH awaits you all...with nasty, big, pointy teeth.
