Hey folks -- Looking to kick off a thread for sharing fastest deity victories (using the GOTM method for now; sum of turns across all 3 ages). For all the flaws of the game, there seems to be enough stability now and variables regarding civ switching + mementos that I think it could be fun to start honing in on what the optimal setup is because I don't think it will turn out to be obvious. I haven't thought very deeply about much but Science so far, other than believing Culture almost certainly involves Napolean(Rev) for movement speed. I'll kick it off with what I've been trying with Science.

I think the straightforward logic is Maya > Abbasid (better find those camels!), but I don't know that it is for sure the best performing. I have been going Siam in Modern age w/ Hub Town strategy to suzerain every city state. For Antiquity I've been using Imago Mundi (scout search) + Travels of Marco Polo (gold for every 100 tile reveal) with the thinking that I'm always opening 3-4 Scouts and early gold is super strong -- tbd if Lydian Lion (200 gold per age at start) is better. This was my best run early on testing:

Settings: Deity / Standard Speed / Huge / Pangea Plus

[Science] Himiko(Wa)
Maya - 120 - Imago Mundi (scout search) + Travels of Marco Polo (gold for every 100 tile reveal)
Abbasid - 72 - Corona Civica (settlement limit) + Kwalkwali (gold for resources in cities)
Siam - 42 - Antikythera Mechanism (science attribute) + Kwalkwali (gold for resources in cities)
234 total turns

Looking forward to seeing your runs across any VC to start digging into optimals!

Abbasid - 72 - Queen's Jewelry (gold on natural wonders) + Kwalkwali (gold for resources in cities)

And more constructively: Imago + Polo seems like the obviously correct play in the first age but no firm opinions yet on later eras.

I have had good speeds in the 3rd age with Railroad Tycoon, but does require a different style of play with more cities than a science speed run.

This is probably near best I can imagine with how I'm approaching it. Probably some room in Antiquity to get sub 100.
