Here's what my deal is. I sign on to my att world net service to get on the net. It connects and starts loading a web page. A good percentage of time s I do this, the computer gets the blue screen "fatal exception" error. I hit return a few times, sometimes it goes away, sometimes the whole computer locks up.

I only get this error when I'm online and I think it might have to do with the att service and the little "control panel" that is always on.

Any ideas? Suggestions? This is getting real annoying and the att people are no help.

Thanks!

What excatly is the fatal exception?

Is it a 0D or 0E? (Or a different one)

And what files caused it?

You should be able to pull this info right off the screen. It should look something like this:

fatal exception 0E in module 0028:C0045644 vmm32.vxd

If it 0D then it's generally a program problem.
0E's are generally RAM (or hardware) problems, but not always.

Well it's that blue screen you get when **** hits the fan. I think it is an OE error.

Could it be a problem with the modem? Like I said, the computer only has issues when online.......

It's frustrating

Method 1: check out if this blue screen happens periodically, and if so, when.
Method 2: format c:, e:\win98\install.exe
Method 3: open the window and jump out of it. Assumption: you're working on the 5th floor like me.
Method 4: check out if you get this blue screen launching anything else. If so, the default is surely Winblows. Otherwise, it might your drivers. Look for an update on the Net.
Method 5: send me $100,000 for this tip. Thanks.
