I agree this merging was none of my doing or of any fantasy or sci-fi buffs accord, I like my fantasy and I like my sci-fi, but they are so different that they are obviously separate deals, which moron put theese two together anyway, and should we tolerate this? So Harry Potter is obviously science fiction

Science fiction is all about future technologies and what would the world be like if they existed. Also, many elements from past science fiction as became a reality in today's world.

I used to read lots of fiction and quite a bit of sci-fi, "Hammer's Slammers" anyone? While I like most fantasy movies , even "Willow", the books I've tried are just silly. I've been mostly reading military history these days. So my vote is for "other".

Anyone who thinks sci-fi is crap needs to read Ender's Game.
Or more to the point, anyone who thinks sci-fi should be singled out as crap needs to read more romance novels.
