Earth...unfortunately
Include your favorite civ, why you like it and something you think should be improved. Me as you can tell from my profile pic love the Aztecs. I like them for their amazing sacrificial alters. Even though I think the jaguars should be buffed up a little bit.

Germany. Going out on a rampage, trying to take over the world is one of my favorite things to do in Civ. Even in the last French game I played, I conquered the Central, Western and Southern Europe in whole, managed to vassalize Khmer and Mali (not much of a challenge anyway) as well as capitulate America. Germany, now that's a civ that's UHV is set upon conquest. Although managing and holding up an empire (or reich, if you will) that huge is a strain on the economy and beakers, it's still satisfying to watch the map of Europe turn step by step into the alluring gray color. Gotta love them Panzers. :p

World War II is one of my favorite subjects in history as well as the wicked totalitarian ideologies that took part in it. Maybe that plays a factor why I like Germany so much, not to mention I like playing my games with an iron fist. :P

After Germany, I'm not so sure which Civ gets my vote. Maybe the Aztec, the relief the Sacrificial Altars give is tremendous if you're a busy whip-cracker. I haven't played a single game as them yet though, I guess I should give 'em a try.

Turkey for the massive cosmopolitan empire.

Persia (same reason as kbk)

I like England:

- save, isolated Island
- very fast research
- 1. and 3. UHV rather easy to achieve for the triumphal arc
- you can have colonies all over the world
- the royal exchange makes you a rich royal

The Maya -- you can turtle with them, or, because you can usually grab most of North America, you can turn them into one of the most powerful nations in the world (if you've mastered the stability system).

The UHV is pretty straightforward, if you're lucky enough not to have another civ beat you to the Temple of K. Alternatively, you can try something really difficult like Metal Alloy Man's Maya Challenge, which no one has yet completed, although sedna17 came extremely close.

Turkey. Easiest UHV IMO. Also for the empire-building and stability.:)

For my first RFC:BTS game, I chose Turkey, and that is definitely my favorite now! First off, it's in my favorite time-period of the game (late middle ages, rennaissance(sp?)) and second, their UP is the most powerful I've seen so far, except for India.
I've played every civ in the Vanilla version, so I know all of their benefits, but the only "new" civ I've played is Turkey, and I love it.

I need to try turkey then sounds like pretty positive reviews.

England.

But I've only played as England and Persia. Well, I've played as Arabia before, but that was with warlords and not BTS...

Who I will try out when I start playing video games again (I've made a commitment since August to not play video games until after Thanksgiving)

1. The Arabs again, its much better on BTS with the Unique power.

2. Germany, since you can have a huge empire and stuff.

3. America, since I'm American. Plus, theoretically, it should dominate. I'd like to see if it really will...

4. Rome. They were the largest empire in Europe, and I think they'd be pretty fun to play as.

5. Russia. They have soooo much land, and a Unique power that makes them almost impossible to invade. Whats not to love?

6. Spain. You would get to fight back the Arabs, and have a huge Empire in the Americas.

7. England again. The last time I played, I didn't win.

The first time I played with England, Germany dominated. I made several mistakes.
The second game, I had subjigation instead of commonwealth like I should have, and normal cities instead of colonies. As a result, my tech constantly went down till it was literally 0% per turn! And then my units went on strike! When the American Revolution happened, my British Muskateers were fighting American Riflemen! I should have just gave them independence, what was I thinking? Because America stupidly left one of there cities isolated, I capped it and that brought there war wariness up a lot so we made peace.

Later that game, Spain (who was dominating) declared war on the dutch. We (me and Spain) were about tied in points, but we were technoligcally backwards and they weren't. I had portugal and Inca as vassals, they had Mali. Spain had already capped France earlier. If they capped the netherlands, that would upset the balance of power to there favor. So I Declared war on Spain as a result of them attacking Amsterdam. I also got Germany on my side.
