The purpose of this thread is to determine who likes what sphere of magic and why. I'm curious as to what everyone always plays. I know death and fire are popular, this will prove that, but I'm also curious as to what other spells- combinations people enjoy. Mostly so i can try them out myself (the ones that sound intersting).

EDIT: I like Fire and Nature cause it works well with the Elves. Mages nuke cities, Nature makes my lands delicious.

spirit water and earth because i like their first spells (all fairly useful)

It's not that I "like" skeletons and Plagues. It's just if I feel I need a combat-oriented caster, nothing comes close to Death magic.

i prefer to bolster my units to help them get xp. skelettes dont help you get xp at all

courage and wall of stone help any unit survive so i find them useful, and spring is a very useful terraforming spell (though deserts hold more appeal to me now since theyre good killing grounds)

I like Spring too. I always have 2 or 3 adepts with it in diferent parts of the kingdom just to terraform it. But only on deserts in city radius, as they cripple pretty badly your city

Fire.

Nothin' better then a good dose of meteors to brighten someone's day :)

Body by far, I must say, there's not one spell in the body sphere which is less than great :)

i like entropy, water and nature spheres.
entropy allows the summoning of balors (for summoners ;) )
and like evewryone else water and nature for buffing up my kingdom, especially the elves. though if i had to pick an offensive sphere for MAGES i'd go with fire like everyone else:blush:

Fire. My adepts might take spring to improve the desert, but then it's straight fire and combat promotions after that, so they can cast bigger fireballs!

Enchantment, people! Whatever you like doing, enchantment can help you double it! I mean, if you're an archmage. And enchanted blade is a pretty sweet spell. Don't they also get flaming arrows? Gilden is a beast with that spell.

All stacks melt under the focus of 3-4 Plague casters. You can finish off the coughing, spasming 'survivors' with some Warriors you left lying around.

But aside fromthat, I think Nature caombines handiness in peacetime with firepower if the realm has to take to the mattresses. Creeping Vines are cool. And go Tigers! (Actually, fade Tigers, fade! Go White Sox!)

Ah, that would explain the metric ton of tigers I had to face in one game. I kept thinking there was no way he could have captured that many... though I did once I got a couple of rangers to the front (I think the count was like 150 or so).

Guess who doesn't really dabble in other spell spheres?

I always bring at least double Medic2+CureDisease priests with the stack for this reason. (And because of AI beelining Typhoid Mary.) That is when I like those "positive" spell spheres.

I can't believe I'm the only body-lover.

That sounds so wrong ^^.
