What is your favourite computer game of all time? On any platform you want, all the way from Space Invaders to Unreal Tournament 2003, what is your favourite?

Um, I'd better define favourite though before somone asks. When you play said game, you have this warm glowing feeling inside of you that you don't get with any other game. It feels right playing this game. Events putside of the game are of no concern to you because you are playing the game. It sucks up unimaginable hours as you are glued to the screen/tv, your friends cannot understand why you are so obbsesse over such a 'patheic game', you have missed deadlines for school/work (or even skipped a day off school/work) beacuse of this game. It takes over you life whenever you load it up and wrenching youself away from it is one of the hardest things you have to do each day. That is the extent of favourite I am using here.

Mine is Championship Manager, of course :D. Stick me infront of any version from 2+ and I will play for hours and hours and hours and hours... And with CM4 coming out in February, I am literaly crapping myself in anticipation. My life will be complete... Oh and Civ2 ain't bad either ;).

Note: Seeing as I'm anticipating a fair percentage of the people here to state Civ in any of it's incarnations as their fave, you can state your close second favourite if you wish. :)

lemmings - and going back nearly thirty years - Adventure on the uni mainframe.

Either Civ II or Imperialism.

3-way toss up.

Civ II MGE, Starcraft, DiabloII LOD

With civ2 probably winning out in the end because of the sheer amount of time spread playing it over the years & never getting sick of it. Got civ3 when it came out, played it a few months, then went back to 2. Just couldn't get into it. Lacked a certain je ne sais quoi.
Starcraft ruled, & was probably more fun than civ while it lasted, but when friends & I got to grad school/law school etc. we never had overlapping free-time enough to get in a game. And IMO Starcraft just isn't that much fun to play with strangers. With friends you know you'll get a good game. With strangers either they suck & you kill them with your first wave, or somone drops & you have a lopsidded game. This is why I probably won't bother with buying WCIII until my friends & I get some more time on our hands.
Diablo II, I still have a lot of fun with. You can just drop in and chop up some baddies for 15 mins whenever you feel like it. You can team up with anyone for a game or two & its fun. Great game for busy schedules as long as you don't let it suck you in.

Deus Ex for the PC. That was a great game, very branching.

I loved "Monkey Island 1". As a kid, I played it for hours every day until I finished it.

And Wing Commander II. It was amazing at it's time.

Fifa Soccer (I got all since the 1th one in 1996).

And of course, civilization (I love the whole series).

well, just for the sake of it... the game i have most fun playing is no doubt fallout 1 & 2, but i dont think they are my favourites.

When you put it this way, I gotta say civ2, although I don't play it as much as I used to.

I've been wearing out my Civ III CD lately:lol: ;but I have been playing Stronghold (midevil castle building) and Sea Dogs (Pirates 'upgrade').

Operation Flashpoint; Resistance, GTA3, Battlefield 1942 and Civ 3. :D
