Favourite Doors song

I like the more colorful sounding ones, the ones that rely less on Ray's cheezy organ.

Probably "My Eyes Have Seen You", "Hyacinth House", or "Shaman's Blues".

Light My Fire, Riders on the Storm, Strange Days, The Crystal Ship are my favorites.

 The image of Nixon sitting as his desk and singing "The Crystal ship, is being filled..." really touched me! Hilarious!!!!

Anybody heard "An American Prayer" by Jim Morrison or bought his poem books? Guy was a real genius.

Well I'll tell you a story of whiskey and mystics and men,
and about the believers and how the whole thing began,
first there were women and children obeying the moon,
then daylight brought wisdom and fever and sickness too soon,..........
;)

:)

So many good ones...

Probably "L.A. Woman" "Light My Fire" or "The End"

People are Strange.

It has a certain amount of memories attached to it from another time; indeed, from another life...

I love the live version of Roadhouse blues on American Prayer.(or was it (Alive She Cried?)
Peace Frog is a real Groover.

Anyway, I prefer their Bluesy live stuff over their psychedelia. Back Door Man, etc.

I am not too easily swayed by all that imagery stuff, play some music with guts(they did)

Probably for me Who do you love, Five to One, Peace Frog, Orange County Suite, and Queen of the Highway But it's so hard to choose: they're all great!

Yeah American Prayer is an awesome album. :goodjob:

:goodjob:

Hmmm Hyacinth House is a great one, I also Like People are Strange, When the Music's Over. Also Ghost Song is really good. Peace Frog has a nice groove as well as Whiskey Bar. I love The Celebration of the Lizard, and My Eyes Have Seen You, And Don't Cry Little Girl................................... hmmmm I could go on all day.

favorite Albums are Strange Days and American Prayer (although American Prayer is mostly just Jim)

As a teen Jim was a God to me. As a repressed mormon youth he was a shot in the heart to the ignorant repression I had been raised with. Needless to say Ive read "The Lord and The New Creatures" and also John Densmore's "The Doors", as well as other collections. And American Prayer remains my favortite Album.

Yes he was a Genius, you can see it in his Art, and an IQ test as a child proved it. Also lot's of problems though. It shows that no matter how smart you are doesn't mean crap when dealing with the real deep down **** life throws at you.

Whatever the shortest song is. :)

(Our local AOR station plays The Doors more often than Led Zeppelin.. I know that's hard to believe, but needless to say I've heard more than enough for one lifetime..)
