[Feedback needed] AND2 Checker: Easy installation and update v0.3

Do you have a "BlueMarble.zip" in Assets/ ?

That I have.
There is also a BlueMarble.fpk there

Another issue:
the "exclude files from update" does not remember what files I tick, every time I reopen that window, selected files are back to default.

So checker says Update is Available, I click that and it brings up the Change Log and I click continue...

Then it says there's a problem with the previous version and it's going to check again.
It does this a dozen times, creating a new process each and every time, and has continued to do this non-stop until I killed each process manually with the Task Manager. Just closing it normally causes it to pull up a new process to replace it, and letting it sit there on its own was causing it to pile up processes.

So I can't update at all with the Installer since it won't even get that far.

Yep, same thing here (win7 64bit, and no idea why...).
I was about to give up on the checker... when dbkblk posted that Emergency_update.bat script. Which oddly enough works just fine. So maybe give that a try. :)

Other than that, I don't seem to be able to disable/enable BlueMarble (yes, zip/fpk is in the assets directory... not sure if there is more to it, like a config entry in some xml file...) - I can't even tell if it's actually enabled or not... (haven't seen vanilla civ in years...).

Okay. Obviously, there is something important that i need to identify. The update command launched trought the terminal works on every pc but the same command launched trought the updater fails ONLY on some PC. That is so strange that i don't even know where to look for. From what i've understood, it occurs only on 64bits BUT some 64 bits PC also works (tried on a VM).
I'll try to fix those bugs next week when i'll have some time.

Thank you for report !

Did you ever get this figured out? I can't reproduce it myself.

I've finally got ride of this ***** bug !!!! rsync expected --exclude="..." on Windows 64bits instead of --exclude "..." like in any other system.

Wow, excellent find. That is really annoying.

@Noyyau: Could you confirm that you have no "checker/exclusion.custom.xml" files ? This would explain why no excluded files are retained.

Launcher updated to 1.03
-> Fix the mighty update error on some W7 / W8.1 64 bits systems.
-> Autostart the mod with the game from the launcher start button,
independently from the autostart option choice.
-> Detect duplicate mods presence in base game and my documents and warn
the user.
-> Reimplemented behavior for Blue Marble, Formations and Color UI options.
-> Fixed "exclude files" button size.
-> Reverted TODO list
-> Removed unused DLL

Important notice: For those who can't update via the launcher because of a looping error message. Try to update the launcher manually via the forum thread (or use svn to update). The error should be fixed after this manual update.

I'm away now, when I'll be back next week I'll dl the new version and check if there still are issues
thanks for the quick troubleshooting!

Well, something is not working :(

Hi, thank you for report.
Did you use the installer to install the mod ? (or do you use svn ?)
Can you try to go in the mod folder and start checker/curl.exe and tell me if the message is the same ?

No 64bits version is not needed and will be overwritten on update (if you use the launcher in the future).
Could you check that you have installed MSVC2010 by executing "checker/vcredist_x86_2010.exe" and then retry to launch curl.exe ?

It should be good if you're already using another version of MSVC. The "curl" executable included is not bounded to this version. Do you have cygwin installed ?
This 32bit executable on every 64bits machines i've tried (including mine).

EDIT: Could you unzip that in "checker/" and relaunch the launcher ?

Just another question: Did this error was produced at every launch or just from time to time ?

Thank you for your help.
