FFH and Vista problem

I bought a new computer last week that came with Vista, and I can't get FFH to work right for some reason. My problem is that when I enter the game itself, the entire UI is missing. I also can't access the options menu from either the main menu or within the game. The escape key works to bring up the game menu, and all hotkeys still work, I just have no UI at all. There is no city interface either, despite being able to enter the city screen.

Every other mod I test works fine, and I'm not sure if I'm just missing something. I tried running it in windows XP compatibility mode as well, but it didn't help. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Yeah, another guy reported the same thing on Vista a week or so ago. I dont know what would be different about FfH2. Though it certainly points to a MainInterface issue. Could oyu try FfH1 and see if that works for you?

I have used it under RC1 and it works just fine. I just got the release version of Vista and about to load it up so will let you know what happens.

I wouldnt use vista at all, and i have a thread for that in the computer talk forum.

But if you really must use vista i would wait for the first service pack at least. Your essentially buying a beta version.

We all know how "stable" microsoft OS's are when they first come out.

i had the exact same issue with the Warhammer mod for civ 4 it never got fixed so i just gave up...

and i dont have Vista...

Ok Just loaded the latest FFH and everything works just fine for me. No problems what so ever.

We all know how "stable" microsoft OS's are when they first come out.

I wonder why Microsoft Operating Systems don't come with 'Monopoly' Preloaded!

All I have to say as to why I wont use Vista is the recommended 2 GB of Ram to run the OS. What crap is that, talk about bad memory management.

If you run the version without Aero it should work out to be less than that.
