I'm usually not a fan of mods, but I downloaded and installed the lastest version of FfH and the media pack last night and I was blown away. The intro movie, the artwork, and the music were fantastic (I love the eagle sreach at the end) and really got me pumped up to try it. The dark graphical motif is great and really sets the feel of the game. A quick glance through the Civilopedia revealed the complexity and depth in the game which was both interesting and overwhelming at the same time, and that really my only criticism. It's a little overwhelming to the new player, and I couldn't find a working link to the PDF manual.

I just wanted to let you guys know you have another fan. I think I agree with the guy who said FfH is to Civ 4 as Counter-Strike is to Half-Life. I can't wait to try the multiplayer. Awesome work guys!:goodjob::goodjob:

The funny thing is, that was me, when I was not part of the team yet and FfH II was released for the first time, far away from being what it is now.

Cheers ;)

Games these days are overly focused on graphics, popular appeal and tapping into new markets by adding more general features and subtracting niche factors into games. What people tend to forget is that people enjoy competitive players and their stunts too. What I mean to say is, this mod was designed by skilled video game players, and a game where the difference in skill shows, people start to find it interesting.

I got two real-life analogies:
- golf: after three months of trying, my average stroke decreased by one again. Yipee!
- fashion: the smaller the clothing item, and the worse it looks on a fat lady, the more fat ladies will buy it and wear it. Since I'm male, I believe this is bad.
