FFH succession game? Lets do one!

Finally, after twenty long years of being I've managed to come to power! Of course, I do appreciate what the previous ruler did for our nation, but this irritating had to go. I was surprised to see that we were somehow mislead - that instead of taking the great positions just outside our gates we had to stay in the city. And warriors? Who needs them, it's an unknown world out there and it needs to be explored!

So, my faithful warriors were sent to search for untold riches that await us... And after years of search they finally found gold! All the gold was hidden in our treasure and many dwarfs have become much happier. The warriors were to become heroes among their kin...

... but if only they knew what was lurking in the shadows of the jungle! Even the bravest couldn't resist those terrible creatures! Poor dwarves. At the same time a team of suited scouts embarked on their first journey into the unknown. What will they find, only time can tell.

When my brave scouts encountered an unadvanced tribe they were greeted by their mystics and were told about a strange mad woman of whom death they had a vision.

And it turned out that people of this tribe were known for their uncommon ways of communicating with 'spirits', as they called them. They eagerly joined us and explained us those ways. We were more than glad to welcome them and quickly learnt what they told us.

My faithful scouts continued to explore the lands, while in our capitol we have decided that it was time to colonize. Some lizardmen approached our land, but our warriors stand weary and will hopefully drive them off. I feel my time is about to come. It is our tradition that the eldest dwarf becomes the next ruler, so our rules aren't that long, but on the other hand are definitely wise. I'll leave to my successor whether to settle to the north, or east, but I must insist to place the city next to the sea, so our cities might quickly communicate along the shore... So, farewell...

I'll take over now, if that's alright?

All is quiet in the Dwarven Kingdom. Our Capitol, Khazak is still producing it's settler so we can expand our humble empire.

Our brave scout, far away from home, does some more exploring. He noticed some fierce animals in the jungle, but decided they were not worth his time, so our scout decided explore a bit north-west of his position. Here he encouters the lizardmen our first king, Xanik the First, already spotted, and decides to maintain his N-W course.

Year 50: Our peoples have learned the secrets of the sea, allowing them to fish, er, fish. This will surely be of use!

Research is set to Mysticism, so our people can worship me as their God King for a production and commerce boost in Khazak. This 'mysticism' also acts as a connection between the people and their Gods, so that one day, we may found a religion.

The scout is still performing his duty, discoving uncharted lands every turn.

Turn 56: our noble scout stumbles upon the Bannor capital:

Our first settler is completed. I decide to send it east, accompagnied by two of our warriors. I fear I will not be able to set up a new city during my reign, that will be a first job for my succesor.

The spot I show in the screenshot is only a suggestion ; feel free to settle somewhere else. But those cows are the only food resource nearby that is not covered in pesky jungle.

Some lions seem to think our scouts are a tasty snack. Unfortunatly for them, our scout decided not to agree.

The last turn of my reign was not a happy one. Our brave scouts were crushed to a rather small size by some evil Hill Giant!

That was it. Savegame is in the attachment. Enjoy!

Il take over from here. Im afraid il have to overide your wish to you successor. That city would overlap the capitals radius. Bad idea IMO.

Edit: Oh i didnt see the cows. Nevermind il settle there.

I did as my successor asked in his dying wish. I took great pride in the founding of our second city in this new age and i was thier for the ceremony.

And so was a Bannor scout it seems. I hope they dont send a settler down here.

EDIT: Why didnt it display it as in image????? I used IMG tags???

my.php

Sorry guys unless someone tells me how to display images im just going to quit. Its no fun putting it on the tabs.

theres a huge number of tags for any image you upload in imageshack-just choose the one that says it displays the image like a thumbnail, but bigger
did he just make off with the savegame as well?

Can someone go instead of me? Il go again later i just dont feel like it now.

We are still at 60 Age of rebirth.

And so it came to pass that the Khazak throne was given to the mildly insane nephew of the last dwarven king. His first act was to found Halowell on the very ground that his ancestors had decreed.

With two warriors there already he chose to build a third, to help with future expansion and to, idk, kick any ass that became available for kicking. Khazak also quickly finished a warrior and it was sent to Halowell as they were experiencing the threat of bands of orcish spearmen and then Halowell would be well stocked with troops if the need ever arose to expand they could garrison the new city.

In the Seventy Second year of rebirth the mad king's sage's informed him of a knowledge of mysticism and made the mistake of giving him to option to declare himself a God/King. Midway through enforcing his new decrees on people he realized that maybe he should have waited until his sages had discovered a full religion before forcing his people into this sort of thing, he rationalized that the extra production he would be able to squeeze out of the capital with his new Godlike powers would be able to make up for that. When his decrees were finally accepted the sages turned their work to the madness of the king, which he claimed to be a product of "talking to the ocean." Ways to communicate with whatever creatures in the deep are causing this are in the works.

In the Seventy Third Year of Rebirth the Barbarians made a push on Halowell and were repulsed by a brave warrior.

Around this time (I'm honestly not sure) the first work boat pushed out of our capital's harbor to begin gathering crabs for the people. The population begins having children at a quicker rate due to the aphrodisiac-esque quality of good crab legs. A elder council was put into construction to help keep our sience up to compensate (if necessary) for that that one turn lost to anarchy.

In 76 a madman in rags totally lost it outside the walls to Halowell, claiming that the barbarians had gained a great leader who was causing them to rampage. His directions to their camp, though, left the advisors to the Godking unworried, as it is likely that we will have some time before he gets to us, and he might become distracted on the way.... well.... maybe not, but we have some time.

In the 77th year that warrior was built in Halowell and it was decided that it would be possible to send out another settler without damaging the treasury too much, so recruitment for a settler began.

In the 79th year another barbarian raid was repulsed by the brave warriors of Halowell, afterwards he claimed to have learned the weakness of these Orcs and that he could probably "Kick their asses pretty hard if it was ever needed." In honor of his bravery he was named "Bruce Willis."

In the Eigtieth year the mad God King died, frothing at the mouth.

Ok, I'll go now.
Xanikk, you should go next, and not leave us like that.

BTW, I personally thinks that Octopussed Khazads are a superb idea. We'll probably have hard time making money, but hopefully there we'll find an alternative way of gaining gold without sacraficing too much science.

Due to the wise reigns of my anecestors my rule was rather uneventful. Bruce Willis did a bit of scouting and another work boat was built to gather even more of local seafood. Then I, the beloved god king of the dwarven folk, decided to build a temple in my name. One of the most exciting things during that time was a ragged messanger who told me, that a terrible barbarian leader, who has been said to be plauging many a county for years, has finally fallen. I had no idea what was he talking about so I let him go to spread this news to other nations (I think he meant the Bannor).

90df7.jpg

After several years he came back, telling me that a great dragon appeared far to the south east and that it guarded untold riches. What really surprised me, was the fact that the messanger came straight out of the ocean. He disappeared the very next day, but I believe there might be some force out there beyond our comprehension. A one that it might be worthwhile allying with. Therefore I ordered my people to look out for any sign of sentient beings in the ocean.

Unfortunately, during my reign no contact was made. Not long before my death a group of settlers emerged ready to colonize some of this wild area. I sent them further east, as there were more of the strange white and black creatures, and some weird white material that my descendants may somehow utilise. I believe that Bruce is near somewhere that place. Now, my time is up. May your rule be strong, my dear son.
