I posted the changed files in your hero enhancements thread. Hopefully it doesn't conflict with anything you are doing. If it does let me know and I'll send you the exact changed lines.

It does conflict with my mod. I modified both those files.

another problem with the mygames/civ/MODS folder is the custom musiks dont seem to play, so this change will be much much nicer

have you ever tried zooming in on a city? thats what gets the faction-theme song playing

ya i know lol

you get the civ based musik when you zoom in on its cities, and the religion musik when you zoom out and have a state religion

my point is, you don't get either when you use the "my game/civilization 4/MODS" folder (or atleast i don't)

so, it will be nice to get this fix

Sorry for off-topic, but why have you been starting to say "musik" with a k? Have you gone and become a swede on us? :p

ive always done such, since i dislike how -ic becomes more like -ick sound, yet things like magician/musician don't have that sound, as such i spell it how i hear it

its a preference, and i don't ascribe myself to standard spelling when it does not agree with the sound

though often i spell it musick, the origin for my 'fix' on the spelling is like from 'quick', which would be odd to be 'quic' ('quik' retains the sound better), and i shorten it to musik because that retains the -ick sound better in my opinion

-ic makes more sense as the -ice sound, music to me should sound like musice based on how its spelled

it may be based on my french background that i consider 'c' more like a 's' than a 'k'

Okay, a hundred downloads and only 2 people have reported a speed difference on load. Does that mean the rest of you havent noticed a change or are you guys holding out on me? ;)

They're all playing Fall from Heaven II, didn't you know Kael? As it were, I've downloaded and installed and it is quite faster loading wise. Can't play much b/c it's the beginning of the week and there's homework that needs doing... not to mention I took a 2 hour nap last night and that's all.

I'll check in on the weekend or something.

Dl'd it and the load time is comparable to moving it to mygames folder
birds work now :)

This is off topic, but it had to be posted:

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling by Mark Twain or Samuel L. Clemens depending on who you ask.

"For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and Iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.
Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.
Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld."

Simply great: my loading times are now less then a second when the computer was just booted up...

Oddly enough, I heard about a different plan that was proposed. This plan called for English to be the language spoken throughout Europe, but with spelling improvements, to simplify it.

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will
make the sivil servants jump with joy
The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words
like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to
reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments
will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is
disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th"
with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining
"ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

The load of this mod is now fast enough that I really don't notice a significant difference from vanilla (I used to have load times in the 12+ minute range). Thank you.

However, I should note that there are quite a few changes in ffh editor.xls that are not reflected in the result files (such as the .xml files in assets\xml\text). I am uncertain if this is deliberate.

Z with th and w with v??? "th" doesn't even sound like th... (unless you have a french accent :) )

Ozer vis i lik :)

Can you give me a few examples?

Played started a game this morning before work, everything started up right quickly. Only problem I had was a CTD after a couple of hours, but I have not done any troubleshooting or tried to replicate it as I had to go to work. (good timing, actually FFh has caused me to be late to work in the past)
