FfH2 0.16 Bug Thread

Sounds good. I guess getting the game to crash is _one_ way of having an immortal hero.

Have you deleted your custom assets folder?

Yes, I have.

What should be my next move? This issue is really frustrating for me, and my knowledge when it comes to this kind of stuff are far off boundries.

Anyway... to all you people that work with the FfHII, thank you for making this MOD reality.

Thats a very odd problem, I haven't seen it before. Do you have a language other than english selected?

No, since English is my language second to my native (Swedish), I found it most appropriate.

Though it feels like the problem has something to do about the actual written text in the game (impressed by my technical skills? Nah...). When I start up the 'CREDITS' page under 'OPTIONS' it only shows different CIV symbols. Both familiar and FfHII ones.

Double move in forests make them good barb-busters that don't require resource. But then again, getting Leaves means you at least get hunters too, so the real issue is not that AoL are weaker than common archers but rather that they're not any stronger than common hunters.

Don't forget that rushing to a religion is a very common strategy. I often find myself only able to build warriors until I get my first religion (typically OO or Runes), so the religion-specific unit usually doesn't have to be much better than its non-religion counterparts to be useful. But Leaves somehow break this because hunters are so easy to get.
i just move hunters to Tracking in my games (so they're at the tech level that all the other tier 2 units are), because for the same reason archer of leaves aren't useful, normal archers aren't really either, because you already have hunters before them, and hunters can take up any position with more versatility and no counters to them.

I had the same problem for Civ 3 when I installed the patch for Conquests. The only way I fixed it was by reinstalling everything.

I reinstalled everything, but it didn't work out the way I hoped.

Please, tell me what kind of information is valuable for you to help me?
I'm thankful for all help I can get.

Hmm... have you updated civ4 to the latest version?

Yup. Is that a problem?

FfHII is only supposed to work on vanilla, no?
The problem occures when I play vanilla, but I cannot get FfHII started with warlords.

For patch c, could you please also release a "modders version" that only contains the files that have been changed from b to c, and not the whole bunch of XML files? Thing is, I'd like to do some modding, but this is hard to do if a patch is released every week, and you need to figure out every time what files have been changed. :(

Here you'll see that researching calendar would appear to have taken awhile.

In fact, this outrageous research time turned up the very turn I should have discovered the tech. Being the curious but bull headed guy I am, I played it through. On the next turn, the research of calendar began anew, thus I essentially had to research the tech twice. The second time around everything happened like it should have. I think.

I have a hunch that this error is tied in with the Balsereph gypsy wagons somehow. I have no proof of this, but the correlation is striking: this was the only game I'd used the wagons, and this was the only time I've seen this error.

BTW, this was v .16. Yeah, I'm late in reporting.

I think you already said something along those lines once or twice :D

(no offence meant)
no offense taken, though i assume incorrect contentless statements about incorrect assessments of redundance are humourous to you, because thats the only reason for you to make a statement about that at all.

When Baron Duin Halfmorn has Hidden Nationality (courtesy of the Council of Esus), he doesn't spread lycanthropy.

are the lanun immortals supposed to be so weak?

No, he was supposed to be 12 strength. I'll fix it in patch "c".

Overpowered? Not necessarily... and if so, it reflects on the Council more then the Baron. The question is, is this a bug or a feature?

Incidentally, I'm currently using him as part of a raiding group against Auric Ulvin, in a stack with Sphener and a Paladin, all Hidden Nationality. As we're fighting T2-3 units, I'd say this qualifies as a double win, regardless.
