FfH2 0.20 Bug Thread

The dwarf settler isn't a dwarf. I think the settler should be made a dwarf, even if the animations aren't ready yet. It just makes sense. Also, it helps get your cities where you want them: in the hills.

I think most units will eventualy be redone to fit the FfH theme. For example, look at the Lanun workers.

Now, I have two questions.

I have a pink Doviello horseman running around the map. The horseman in the pedia looks fine. Bug or my graphics card?

Also, when I open the city screen for a couple of my cities, as you look at the bottom and view the various units garrisoned there, I notice a confessor sitting in the middle of the longbowmen. Normally a confessor is to the right of them. It that a bug or is something else going on?

Thats strange, I dont really see a difference between the two methods. But lots of the "little" things make a big difference, it may be because the mercurians come in as part of a team and the infernals dont.

Yeah, it struck me as rather odd too, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out any other difference there. And I obviously know even less of the programming behind, so..

Either way, I'll let you know if this is a recurring thing or just some random oddball stuff, as soon as I've played some more games. Either way, since both of the errors are pretty easy to get around with some handy save/load work it is hardly a major thing, just a little quibble to be fixed whenever there's time I guess. :)

While the Infernals were around, when I lost units in battle I got the message that my units had gone to serve the Infernals in the afterlife, which I expected. The problem was that after the Infernals were destroyed, when I lost units in battle I got a message that my units had gone to serve the Mercurians in the afterlife. My understanding from the "Fire" developer diary was that only units of good alignment would go to serve the Mercurians after being killed, not evil units. Otherwise, I think it unbalances things too much: I noticed on the power graph that the Mercurians increased significantly after the Infernals were destroyed.

Kael, you explained how this works in a post on a different thread. I'm still new to the forums, so haven't yet figured out how to link to a post in a different thread, so I'm just pasting your quote in below, which I hope you don't mind.

"Having a state religion doesn't always mean that every unit will follow that religion (though the chances are higher that they will adopt a state religion than another one). There isn't much impact to it. The only thing it really plays into right now is what will happen to that unit when he dies. OO or Veil worshippers join the infernals. Runes or Order worshippers join the Mercurians."

That explains what happened in my game: some of my units were created with Runes of Kilmorph, so they would have joined the Mercurians after being killed. Sorry for thinking this was a bug and for polluting the bug thread with this one.

Patch H: The red dragon (Acheron?) decided to leave his city, wander into the middle of a desert, and then just sit there. He'll blast any unit that gets too close, but won't do anything else (including going home to defend his hoard, which was promptly captured :D).

Hi, I was playing earlier today and managed to exploit a bug/glitch which allowed me to have more than 4 heavy crossbow men, by building crossbow men then upgrading them, i attached the save game. Thank you

Seems like the Mana system with free promotions isn't quite working. I was (/am) playing a game as the Amurites (Valledia). So I start with one Fire mana from my palace, and I then proceeded to build the Eternal Flame, giving me a net total of 4. One I traded away since it is largely useless to me, but the other three I kept. I've made sure I didn't go senile and trade away more, it very clearly says Fire Mana (3) when I check on my resources in my city screens.

Anyway.. I get Fire I with my Adepts just fine as I'm supposed to, but my Wizards however do not get Fire II when I upgrade an Adept. I can't say for sure if this is a general problem or just a temporary hijink since I've never had more than one of any given Mana in a game since the switch to Fire.

Adepts already created will not gain the extra fire levels, nor will they upon upgrade. Any adept you build while you have 3 fire mana will start with Fire I and Fire II

I am aware, but this did not happen. However, it also seems to have been an isolated hijink because it works perfectly fine now, so it beats me how that happened. But I know how the system works, and for some reason it didn't that once. Built the Adept and upgraded him in no time to a Wizard (thanks to Cave of Ancestors etc) but no Fire II, despite abundant Fire Mana.

Oh well. Who knows.

HELLO AGAIN!

This is my third post for the same Problem.
I´m a german fan of FfH2-fire, so far. My problem (and this seems to be the problem of every german FfH2 player, we discussed in the german forum!) is, that I get a CtD, when Falamar comes into play, for example Falamar (Player) meets Alexis (AI).
(The same problem by Ardel (Player) meets Falamar (AI), and so on... But everytime Falamar is involved!)

But it´s ONLY in the german version!!!

So please someone test this: Switch the language to german and start a custom (best duell) game with Falamar (Player) and choose as opponent Alexis (AI[really!?]). Search ingame for her contact and I bet you´ll only find your Desktop, when the diplomacy window is opening!

Someone please try this out and than help the whole german comunity! :help:

Best regards, Goch Ddraig.

This may be a bug, or simply something I'm unaware of.

I'm trying to go to war with Ethne the White. I decalre war, and then during her turn I'm forced to peace again. I know the hero Corlindale can do this, but i was under the impression it required a sacrifice. It's happend 5 times in a row now, quite annoying.

Corlindale not being sacrificed correctly is, as I understand it, a known bug that will be addressed shortly.

All right I just tried it out. Happens to me too now, but it is not just Falamar meeting Alexis that causes the problem but Falamar meeting any female leader. I suspect that the function used to give Falamar a diplomacy bonus towards and from females does not translate correctly over to German. Even when the AI has control of Falamar and meets a female leader it will crash as soon as you try to hover over Falamar after selecting the female leader in the diplomacy screen. Os-Gabella works fine though.

Got it, it will be fixed in the next version. Thanks for pointing it out.

Since the latest patch I don't seem to be able to switch the way I view unit icons from a horizontal line to any of the stacking icons options. I click it, it is highlighted green, but the display does not change.

Yeah, the PLE buttons are broke.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I started a game and the AI autopicks what I produce in my capital, It doesn't say you have completed BLANK What would you like to build next? Rather it just switches to what I assume is the AI recommended thing. Not a big deal but It was annoying at first as it kept trying to build me warriors.
