FfH2 0.25 Bug Thread

Hi,

I'm looking forward to trying this BTS version, but I can't get it to start. I get the attached XML error when trying to load the mod. There's a bunch of other ones that happen when you click OK.

I think I may have installed something wrong, so I could use some help. I have FfH 2023 for Vanilla with the media pack, and I downloaded the file FfH2025a.exe and installed that in the BTS Mods directory. That is the only thing I installed. Is there anything else that's required? I don't need to download the whole media pack again do I?

I do have BTS 3.13 and it seems to work fine if I don't load the mod.

You need to download the full Fall from Heaven II 0.25 mod.
 
I played 200 turns as the malakim and the only bug I might have seen is the adaptive trait never came up

Also played as Auric for awhile and can say the charismatic trait was working for me.

In a game as the svartalfar, workers got the elven promotion but could not build elven farms,towns/plantations
 
Quest : I got a quest on a huge map to build 11 war chariots. However the quest fails if i advance to the classical age.

However the tech horseback riding advances you to the classical age.

Note : when i researched horseback riding, it did not flunk me of the quest, probably just a text error in the quest
 
Played another multiplayer game with 1 AI and 2 humans:
no OOS til midgame when Grigori (AI player) built Pact of Nilhorn and giants attacked Elohim (human) Scout and lost and attacked Balseraph Loki (human) and lost as well, both on same turn, the turn it OOSed.
 
Two more errors posted below. the second one reappears at the start of every turn if i click OK.

I've installed the mod and the media pack and am getting an immediate crash to desktop.

Apparently a lot of people (me included) are having this problem. It appears to be related to the 3.13 patch itself, not FFH.

Also if anyone is using the No-CD patch that was just released for this version, it also causes an immediate CTD upon loading BTS, loads to menu then crashes. Until a fixed patch is out just use your retail CD and the issue should disappear.
 
If you go to the options, you can change the main menu to the Warlords, BTS classic, or the original. *coughcoughaddtheoriginalffhmainmenubackcoughcough*
Or you could use the slots to add menus that actually work for different aspect ratios. Or, better yet, both!
 
Elven workers can build lumbermills in normal forests (but not in ancient forests).
 
more multiplayer OOS:

got one as Keelyn+Alexis (human players) against Capria+Varn (AIs), possibly due to Loki fleeing an Adept or Calabim building a Governors manor (only things of note that happened that turn).

Auric (as AI) seems to OOS the game on turn 1 everytime we've tried, perhaps to do with Charismatic (since Falamar seems to OOS it too but not always immediately) or due to possible weird AI behaviour that Auric has to stop him from getting religions?
 
Yvrain can summon an unlimited amount of treants, one each turn. Made conquest a bit -too- easy.

Upon promoting wizards to archmages, the free promotion was not awarded.

Could not demand tribute from my vassal, though they provided very favorable trades. (all their resources and mana for iron and 1 gold a turn, for example).

The Lich left his tile and conquered a few cities with the help of his horde of summons.
 
3 things from my current game:

- One of my warriors started mutated with random promotions.

- The summons of the lich king last for 3 turns - giving them a huge radius with spell extension I & II.

- The Lanun can't harvest pearls.

Satyrs get Elven promotions with the elves. Not sure if this is intended.
 
Ancient Tower no longer seems to grant a Sentry promotion to units that are on it. It does not appear to increase visibility range through another mechanism, either.
 
Also, is the insane trait working?
 
The Insane and Adaptive traits work through the Events system now, so they won't happen on a regular schedule (or at all if you have events turned off).
 
Only two for me :
Sphener summons a skelton rather than a life spark
When I spread the Order to a city no crusader or acolyte

No issues with the city screen mentioned, running XP Pro, shop brought BTS no Warlords and installed onto C drive in default

Playing Malakim, Varn Gosam, patch 025a.

Tooltip on Eldar Council in build menus doesn't show +2 research bonus, it does apper to be applied correctly once the the building is completed.

Ditto on Obelisks.

Adaptive options came up on turn 128, I expected around turn 107.

Lightbringers IIRC used to have a medic bonus?, no medic bonus.

Found a giant spider of strength 5...

Otherwise no problems, just more sleepless nights.
