FfH2 0.25 Bug Thread

Balseraph cages require hunting lodge instead of freak show.

The AI doesn´t seem to give double mana resources any value. I got law and body mana for free, just by asking for it and using the "what do you want for that option"
 
I'm getting a crash to desktop before the game completes loading a map (doesn't get to the click to play screen). It doesn't matter if I do a quick game, custom game, or what options I choose.

I'm running 0.25a including the media pack with the following setup

1) Vista x64
2) Retail copy installed in F:\(rest default path) including warlords
3) Don't get any error messages, just the standard Windows crash message. If I chose to debug in VS I see the error is

"Unhandled exception at 0x041c1310 in Civ4BeyondSword.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000c6."

Resolved - no bug, just stupid user error. Thank for the help Kael, would have been messing with it all night if not for your version question. Had a copy in f:\program files for XP and f:\program files (x86) for Vista. Thought I reinstalled the second over the first.

What version of Beyond the Sword are you using?
 
3.13, which seems to run fine by itself. Here is my version window in case it helps.

Edit: interestingly enough when FFH is loaded it is showing as running version 3.03, see second screenshot.

Very odd. The versions you have in your nomral BtS version are what you need to play FfH (and the version I see when I check my version in FfH).

Try to load FfH from within BtS and see if it fixes your problem. It seems like you have 2 versions of Civ on your computer.
 
This appears to be inherited from the 3.13 patch, but I thought it was worth mentioning here in case others run into it: No animals are placed on the map at startup. I have tried most of the popular mapscripts and none give you animals. Needless to say, the Wildworld option has no effect. (However, Barbarians are being generated correctly, including starting cities when that option is chosen.) I should note that a few animals will spawn as time passes -- I have seen a couple of Lions and a few Elephants. There are Lairs for Skeletons, but not for Lions or Bears.

I have a thread open in the BTS bugs forum and will update you if I get a solution.

Meanwhile, has anyone tried the Options mod with .25? If it works, we might be able to get animals that way.

ps - While using the Worldbuilder to look for animals, I noticed some amazing new stuff on the map. This is going to be fun!

No map starts with animals, they are spawned over time.
 
not sure if this is a bug or a balance issue

the barb summons are really strong in the early game. in yr 99 two str 9 wraiths with +50% str just showed up next to one of my cities (which only has two warriors in it).. normal game speed/barb settings

also, adepts no longer have a prereq building

also can confirm the earlier post that events are broken - it gives u all options rather than selects an outcome for you. also the espionage related events could maybe be removed?

It sounds like Barbatos is nearby.
 
Couple of things.

1. Cure disease doesn't seem to cure well diseases.
2. Unyielding order isn't removed when my mage leaves town.
3. Famine didn't occur when the counter hit 40 (I didn't check the no arm counter setting)
4. I don't know if I'm using it wrong, but hidious thoughts doesn't seem to do anything.
5. Like others I have living world on, but I haven't gotten any events.
6. I tried playing several maps, and it seems there's only 1 unique item per map (on huge setting, and double bonuses)
7. The golden age banner/display isn't there anymore.
8. Like everyone else, no sickness/unhappy citizen display on cities.
9. I haven't been able to reproduce this, but I've been getting spinlock, and one time I tried slave rush producing a Zealot, but the next turn no unit appeared, and in the queue it would say Cultist (1 turn)
10. The order and veil are able to coexist in same city
11. Not sure if this is a bug, but it won't let me change religions if I have heroes & High priests of that religion. Maybe a prompt or something? Was pretty frustrating trying to figure out why I couldn't change religions until I figured out it was because of the heroes.
 
incense doesnt appear in cities after its been hooked up, neither do reagents

nm, i see they have both have prereq techs now
 
I've installed the mod and the media pack and am getting an immediate crash to desktop.

You need to be running Beyond the Sword patch 3.13.
 
Hi,

I'm looking forward to trying this BTS version, but I can't get it to start. I get the attached XML error when trying to load the mod. There's a bunch of other ones that happen when you click OK.

I think I may have installed something wrong, so I could use some help. I have FfH 2023 for Vanilla with the media pack, and I downloaded the file FfH2025a.exe and installed that in the BTS Mods directory. That is the only thing I installed. Is there anything else that's required? I don't need to download the whole media pack again do I?

I do have BTS 3.13 and it seems to work fine if I don't load the mod.

I was getting a lot of minor graphical bugs (skeletons appearing as vanilla swordsmen, goblins as hoplites, and barbarian warriors as pikemen. One lizardman unit consisted of one lizardman and 1 vanilla swordsman graphics, then a little latter as 2 swordsmen), and then the game froze for several minutes and then had a CtD.

I was playing, with patch a, as Os-Gaballa of the Sheaim, with the Blessings of Amath..., last days, wildlands, living world, and labruscum options on. I forgot to turn on python debugging, so I don't have any details on the error.
 
Oh, and the options for the custom game are not being saved. I realize this is probably low on the to fix list, but it is a bit annoying :)
 
ah, the right thread...patch A doesn't seem to fix the Arena for the Balseraphs. It still crashed our game heh.

Hmmm. Previously, at the start of my first turn, the 'sto' and 'smartmap' scripts had placed a lot of animals on the map. Also the 'options' mod. Could this have been done with an event scheduled to run before the player turns? If so, and there is a problem there, it would also explain the absence of the Sailor's Dirge.
