World units (Heroes, mostly) give 4x the XP when killed compared to normal units killed at the same battle odds, I believe. I know it's some multiplier, but I forget the exact number. Anyways, low-% wins give much more XP than high-% wins, and 2.3% is really low. Therefore, the warrior probably got (16 xp for low-% win) x 4(for world unit kill) + 1(for Raiders or something, I guess) = 65 xp.

Pyro, I think he meant that a warrior killing orthus at 2.3% chance could have been a bug. Unless it's repeatable, I would say that warrior beat the odds in a big way.

Still, it kind of sucks because that warrior becomes unupgradeable for some reason.

The whole point of combat odds is that they're random. It's possible, just not probable. I've had the same thing happen, though on slightly higher odds. A 50-odd XP warrior with Orthus' Axe on turn 40 is pretty much unstoppable, and it made me very happy when he found and freed Brigit later as well. I don't recall any issues with upgrading, since mine became a Swordsman and then a Champion. Did your city have a training yard though?

As a small contribution to the combat odds debate, I attached two pictures that show that the combat odds calculation in FFH is pretty good. It is perfectly normal that, in more than 300 combats, there will be several very lucky and unlucky results. There would be something wrong with the game if you lost *all* your battles in which your chance of winning is around 5%.

1. chancel of guardians does not provide the defense promotion with probability of 20% but every 5th unit get it.

2. used the mealstrom and get stucked in ice. (picture 1)

3. the blight event occur a second time when basium was created (dont know, if thats the cause but its the only thing happened befor) (picture 2)

4. could create command post without the required tech, and it worked. (picture 3)

Blight can recur randomly after the initial event, probably just a coincidence that Basium was created at the same time. However, summoning the Mercurians/creating Basium does increase the AC so it can trigger the initial Blight.

4. could create command post without the required tech, and it worked. (picture 3)
Great Commanders can create the Command Post at any time, the tech requirement only applies to ones built by Organized leaders.

I don't recall WHEN, but I swear that Medic 3 was changed to be a purchased ability by any unit with Medic 2. However, when Medic 2 was added to the PromotionPreReq, no Unitcombats were assigned. Thus NOBODY in the game has, or can get, Medic 3.

1. The code clearly states that there is a 20% chance each time a unit is built. Having it happen for every fifth unit is exactly 20% of the time (as opposed to a 20% chance each time, which does actually seem rather odd). It could just be a coincidence. How long has that pattern held up?

2. I'm pretty sure this is intensional.

3. Blight is not supposed to recur. Pestilence (which is very similar to Blight, but weaker) does recur. This isn't the first time someone has reported a world event happening again after switching to Basium. I've seen reports of getting 2 Gaelens that way.

4. This is intensional. Units that Force buildings don't need the techs, while those that just build them do. I discovered this when I let Philosophical leaders build academies (at first at Education, but that was way too powerful so I pushed it back to Arcane Lore). The tech is only for those built normally, which requires the Organized trait.

20% is not exactly the same as every 5th, because at 20% it can happen that you get 12 units in row, and no one gets the promotion, and the next 3 units get it. but it happens every 5th unit all the time, thats a little different.

but i pay attention on this.

It does work both ways for sure, I just lost my Mardero with a 98% chance to win :'/

Ok... I patched FfH II with the "e" patch... started a new game.

Loki appears in my borders. I surround him with units. I attack. He merely flees into the same square as one of my surrounding units.

UGHHHHH.

That's intended.

The Civpedia on Loki says that he flees combat, BUT, to KILL him you have to surround him with units so he has nowhere to flee to... ie... I surrounded him with units, attacked, he was supposed (by the Civpedia) to have nowhere to go and die... but, he was able to flee INTO the square where one of my attacking units was sitting.

If this is intentional then the Civpedia is wrong.

Yeah the pedia is wrong. Loki has learned a few more tricks since that was written.

I think that the comand promotion for disciple units may be broken, the few times I have upgraded my priest to command 3 it appeared that the chance of recruiting a defeated unit decreased instead of increase. I might have just gotten real luck with command 1 5 times in a row, but I noticed that when I promoted my priest to comand 3 I was not so lucky.

I'm curious about this, do u mean building it the normal hammer way or build it with a great commander? The latter would be correct but former would be wrong since both Elohim leader does not have the Organized trait
