FfH2 0.33 Bug Thread

To the list of "features, not bugs"?

Btw, Pacifism is not mutually exclusive with Military State. I just assume Kael is not aware of how unit maintenance works, as seen by the Crusade civic, and the real intended effect for Military State is a bonus to general unit maintenance, not only when under pacifism.

What do you think about the mapscript python exception?

Posted this earlier, but as a question. Now I'm posting to confirm. Blight is still reoccurring when Hyborem and Basium enter the world. Playing with the current version, 2 player over the internets.

Yeah I accidentally placed it in the wrong spot, meant to place it as a real bug, but if not mutually exclusive then I suppose it might be a balance question.

Python errors from Mapscripts would belong as questions to the mapsript maker. I assume Erebus map had a failure to find gates?

Bug or feature?

Barbarians can pillage my mushrooms. Don't know if this is intended but it IS mean of them!

This is the 4th time i've seen this WoC and it always involve AI_groupMergeRange.

The best fix i think is in CvUnitAI::AI_allowGroup :

If the case happen again with another function than AI_groupMergeRange, that will be a good track to a better fix. Not sure another unit may target a plot in the same conditions.

As no-one seems to have found/looked at my previous Crash to Desktop, I thought I would try to apply this change to see if I had the same problem (My second game of 33b is also experiencing CtD). I cannot find that function in any of the FfH files, if perhaps you could be a bit more specific in what file/directory the change needs to be made, (or source file/destination to put an alterted file not part of the mod) perhaps people who are not active modders could try out the fix.

1. I thought it was a given that when Basium was summoned (Kandros Fir did it in my game) it was a given the Mercurians would declare war on any AV civs? Not so, in my game. In fact, for some reason, he declared war on most of the Neutral AI Civs with FOL (he has ROK) and the Order. I opened the screen to see what Basium thinks of Hyborem expecting the usual nastiness and Hyborem doesn't even appear. Could the Mercurian/Khazad alliance not know Hyborem is in the game?

2. OK, Hyborem killed my fortified Level 13 Beastmaster with Great Commander attached. I imagine the Combat Odds might have even been in his favor. However, what I did not get is that the attack did NOT cause a single bit of damage to Hyborem!!! Fluke or problem?

Not a bug and not related, kudos to whoever designed the new Yvain artwork. I love it! Yvain used to be easily confused with Druids with the old artwork and this unit design is really cool!:goodjob:

Yes, they are just an improvement, so easily pillaged, also destroyed if you try to farm or mine the tile.

That is a part of the DLL, so you have to set up Codeblocks or another program to compile it yourself. Not a simple change unless you already are set up to do compiles.

Basium will declare war only if you have been at peace for 20 turns. So if they keep declaring on other people due to relations/power levels, they'll never be forced to do so by Religion.

Just a fluke. Happens sometimes, and typically only when it really pisses you off.

No crash for me. You try to put graphical options to minimum (except single unit and freeze animation) and check if you still get CtDs.

Tcho !

Playing Calabim, Pagan Temples + incense don't give +1 happiness. Is this intended for the vampires or is this a bug?

I'll bet 5 somethings you don't have Philosophy, which is required to get incense from your plantations.

Thanks for your response, xienwolf. I didn't know it worked that way. You would think there would be some sort of preference for Basium declaring war on AV civs, especially Hyborem. In the previous games when I built the Mercurian Gate, it seemed like all hell broke loose as soon as Basium appeared in the form of war on AV civs.

Still not surprised I lost the battle to Hyborem with my fortified Beastmaster - just floored, though, that Hyborem didn't receive any damage at all!

About mushrooms:

I hope those barbarians had a good trip :D

On a more serious note, what about mushrooms giving either enraged or mutation to the unit pillaging the tile for some little fun :crazyeye:
(I really miss a general suggestions thread :()

A minor one:
You can not cast courage on demon units but if you have hope in the city they are build they still get it.
Maybe change it so that even unliving units can get it. The +10% heal are nice for everyone.

Patch "c": (unreleased)
1. You cant pickup Dragon's Horde or the Lyre in other players cities.
2. You can't Wane immortal units.
3. Illusions can't be sacrificed for research (mirrored ritualists).
4. Illusions can't be sacrificed for production (mirrored slaves).
5. Illusions can't be sacrificed for culture (mirrored disciples).
6. Illusions can't be sacrificed to become great people (mirrored shades, you're all cheaters!)
7. Illusions can't be sacrificed for great merchant gold (it was only a matter of time befor PL gave a mirror to a great merchant).
8. Fixed a WoC error caused by grouping with an invisible unit with enemies nearby (fixed by Sto!).
9. Stirrups requires Horseback Riding.
10. Fixed a python error with Pestilence.
11. Ring of Flames won't destroy unique features anymore.
12. Immortal Units won't be reborn when upgraded.
13. Balseraphs can now cage human slaves.
14. Illusions can not found cities (mirrored settlers).
15. Groups of Satyr's cannot duplicate animals with Mezmerize anymore.
16. Captured units retain their race (so captured dwarven workers don't turn into elves when captured by the ljosalfar).
17. Liches will now be undead after casting Lichdom.
It seems you still left off one of the big Mirror Exploits: sacrificing to build buildings. I've found i hard to resist the urge to use a single Great Prophet with mirrot to build every shrine and alter of the luonatar, a single Great Sage to build an Academy in every city, and a single Great Commander to build a Command Post in every city.

Bug or feature?

I just had the event where some goblins dump their waste i one of your plots, only problems is that the plot was my first city. this kinda ruined the city, as it now only produces 1 food.

I've been able to pass Gela along multiple times each turn, attacking and then passing the equipment to the next unit in the stack.

OK, I don't really know if it's bug, rather feature, but I don't want to make new thread. I played Doviello as Charadon for the first time ever and my second Beastman got Mutated, Empower I and Sentry promotions (Of course he also had Combat I and Winterborn). The first one had only Combat I and Winterborn. Why is that?

Feature, event can strike any tile, to include hitting a city sadly. Can be quite crippling indeed, and completely impossible to recover from.

You have Chaos Mana, which means that 2% of all units you build will start with Mutated and then they have an 8% chance per promotion of grabbing ~27 other promotions, most beneficial, some harmful.

Would it be possible to have this (and other similar effects) be reversed when you get the requisite mana? In this case, I believe you can avoid the -1:food: if you have Nature mana, but only if you have it at the time. I think you should get the food back once you acquire Nature mana, although I doubt that's easily codeable.
