FfH2 0.33 Bug Thread

Thanks. Seems I need to read manual a bit more.:)

But another one. I had event with man found in wilderness. Options are to leave him be, to hire him like hunter or to gain +1:science: from Hunting lodge. Though I had no Hunting lodge, this option was available. Shouldn't this option be greyed out?

Should be fixed with patch a.

And now my bug reports:

1) If you get a city through diplomacy you don't get your free buildings (I want my demonic citizen!)
2) Under some circumstances the Ai doesn't want a specific tech from you (its reded out). You can't even gift it, even though they they are willing to accept other techs.
3) Sometimes the Ai really has wierd views on whats a fair deal.
I offered Garrim entropy mana and asked him what he would pay for it.
Then he WANTED that i give him wine, mind mana and gems in addition.
(Which might be understandable conzerning diplomacy penalties. I take the penalty but you have to pay me)
However I could just gift it to him without paying the "diplomacy penalty fee".

Unfortunatly I dont have a savegame for nr. 2 and 3 anymore.
 
I've been able to pass Gela along multiple times each turn, attacking and then passing the equipment to the next unit in the stack.

Can you include a save I cant reproduce this.
 
It seems you still left off one of the big Mirror Exploits: sacrificing to build buildings. I've found i hard to resist the urge to use a single Great Prophet with mirrot to build every shrine and alter of the luonatar, a single Great Sage to build an Academy in every city, and a single Great Commander to build a Command Post in every city.

Good call, I'll add it.

I'll put this up on the list in a slightly modified form to get at the crux as I see it. But you basically got the gist of things in your post. Some items have a negative value for the AI, so they need to be bribed to accept it. The bug portion is that they allow you to gift it to them without adding the appropriate bribe (and in the case of the Techs, did you try sweetening the deal with other stuff to see if it cleared up? Doubt it would, but that would be the ideal way to handle it). Some of it could also be that there is 0 value placed on a few of the extra items he requested.

So on the turn that your goldenage ended, without changing anything else, there was no reduction in total gold income, or the tiles all still show 1 extra Commerce on them from the Golden Age? If you happen to have a save from just before the golden age ends that would help a lot I think

I just did a trial run and gave myself Incense with a Plantation and a road, in my cultural borders, and by having Calander and Philosophy it did connect properly.

It was red so I couldn't even click on it. (So no bribe or whatever possible and I was friendly with them). Happend with the tech warhorses and some other "normal" tech.

Oh and xienwolf is there a reason you didn't list the bug with free buildings?
And Kael you wrote that you cant pick up the lyre and dragons hoard but whats with infernal grimore and the crown?

The Grimoire can never be picked up once it is placed as a building. The crown looked to have already been configured correctly. Have you seen an issue with either of them?
 
Just forgot that one in the shuffle. A clarification on that if you could test it: Is it just Hyborem's free buildings, or ALL free buildings? (meaning it would match what I wrote in the unconfirmed section for the moment. Thus the Mage Guilds from Catacomb LIbralus, and the Dwarven Vaults for the Khazad. Though the vaults would get added at the start of the next turn, so you have to check immediately on that one).

Are you sure that is right? I haven't seen it in 0.33 yet, but I recall it being the other way around, so that you could pick it up but never use it to build the building again. After all, it is in the building form you create the Grimorie, and get the free tech. The building itself doesn't do much, but as a promotion it allows for the Read from the Grimorie spell. Also, when I added a spell to let you drop the Grimorie I found you got a free tech every time.

You are right that you are supposed to be able to pick it up but never turn it back into a building again but thats not the way it is in 0.33. I'll fix it.
 
Kael, attached a save where I was able to repeat the "take Orthus's Axe after the unit is done attacking" Saved with Baron Duin holding the axe, having already killed 3 barbarian units. The other Baron Duin is now up for orders and able to grab the axe if he wants it.


EDIT: Given the below comments, I suspect it is testing if the holder is flagged as "hasCast" rather than checking if they are "hasCast & hasMadeAttack"
 
Just use the unit stack next to Beeri Bawl to attack him.
You can only pick up Orthus Axe or Gela once though, after that it is disabled how it's supposed to be, which means you can use the items only with 2 units in one round.

No problems seen. i just thought it might be the same problem and overlooked those two.
However I thought the grimoire started as wonder with the +1 tech and then you could take it to use as random spell book and you couldn't put it back as wonder because its exept for the +1 great people useless.
And now after some world buildering I realize you can neither take it nor drop it. Is it intended that you only get it by razing the city?

Only Hyborems buildings missing. Buildings from Wonders work.

Well, that's odd. As you can see below, I don't get the happiness bonus. I have Calendar/Philosophy and haven't traded the incense away either.

So if the Calabim are not allergic to incense (garlic substitute? ;) ), any idea what might be causing this?

Free Buildings are not granted to Hyborem for cities gained by Worldspell or Diplomacy (Chip56 - Post 222)

Actually when I used my worldspell I got my free buildings.
