It was fun, by the way- probably a little too easy, but still very fun. 3v3, with Yohan, me, and Verm.

im thinkin for traits on a custom leader i'd try Lanun with:
Raiders/Financial/ScorchedEarth/Sprawling

would be fun to work huge chunks of ocean

oh, and deadthling, for your post at rhe beginning could you mention that these are for a custom game we may try at some point? would help with some of the confusion lol

i can make the actual changes to xml files and such and then send it to all interested in playing the custom game, and if you want a custom portrait you could send me it.

Don't the Lanun have a tech as a trait to begin with? ^^

trade offs (+1 food from water, -1 food from farms), and they dont get any other tech (like some civs start with ancient chants, lanun has none of the starters)
if anything they get screwed over

That's from the palace, Seafaring reveals pearls, gives an additional movement in water and allows creation of Pirate Coves, I believe. As for it replacing a first tech, it's unique and the Doviello and Clan of Embers don't receive starting techs at all.

lets look at this simply. Lanun leaders get 2 traits, Hippus leaders get two traits. I'm adding one good and one bad, you are adding one good and one bad. Of course random gimps based on perceived strengths is not intelligent, but if you say so... i still dont agree and ill be doing those 4 traits regardless.

you mean you're going to make yourself with the ultimate leader traits
scorched earth won't hurt you in the least...
sprawling would allow you control vast territory with your 3 best cities

if you want to take a negative trait, you have to start with agnostic or barbarian perhaps?

Yea, I don't think Scorched Earth should be counted as a negative trait, if it is, then Agnostic should get like 3 extra positive traits if not taken with Grigori.

wanted to try something fun where everyone could try their idea of a good leader combo and you say mine is too good, thats brilliant. creative financial elves, thats uber, but i was interested in seeing how it played out

but lets just not do it, better to be stuck and not try anything that one person can pretend is unbalanced.
