BTW, FF7, FF8 are available as PC games, but you'll have to buy them again.....

Freeware emulators are not illegal. Downloading ROM images for games which you do not own is illegal. For emulators and freeware ROMs check out www.zophar.net .
As for FF 7-9 could there be a more boring less interactive RPG series? Yeah they look great but I've read more interactive books.

Final Fantasy 6 (released as Final Fantasy 3 in the US) is the best of all times, followed by FF5, then FF4 and finally FF9!
The Opera, The flying Casino, Setzer, Kefka, 6 Equipment slots and much more made it the best ever!

FF6 was by far the best, simply in terms of sheer fun factor. I've played it through probably 5 times now, and it always entertains me. The much over-hyped 7 was not nearly as good. FF5 was exceptionally deep and complex with its job system, but it wasn't as entertaining overall. So why aren't any of these games on a poll that asks "Best FF Game?"

If you want to make FF6 mabey a bit funner I think its nice to NEVER equip espers, try it like that and then in the end you end up having to actually develop each persons skills rather than just giving them all Ultima.Originally posted by Sullla

oh and don't try to get Magic in anyother way either (sheilds) personaly now that is the only way I play FF6 now.

FFII is different from four, in Japan, anyway. FFII and III (both NES) were never released here, and neither was V (SNES). So, for Americans, we got I,IV,VI, and I'm not sure after that. Where IS Japan now? X was just released here, Japan may be looking for XX!

Alas, I've only played I and II(US). However, I recently found FFIII(US)! It took $60, but so far it seems worth it. Perhaps Square will rerelease some for Nintendo? Probably not, though.

I am quite blatantly threadjacking here, but I have a FFVI question for Kefka (boo!) and DaEezT (er, unrelated to the series) that I hope one of you can help me with. I have finished the main quest but haven't bothered going to Kefka's tower yet and am just wandering round getting the levels up and fighting all the dragons and getting the extra characters, etc.
Most of my characters are around level 50 or so (although I use Sabin far too often as his blitzes are just so cool) but Celes seems to just leak magic points all the time. I will be at one end of the continent and walk to the other end without casting any magic whatsoever and then she will have lost about 50 or so MPs. Why does this happen? It's easy to get them back with all the cash I have at my disposal but it's just annoying!
Also can you help me with the cursed shield? I know that you have to win 255 battles with it equipped and I've had it on Locke for ages but can't remember how many battles I've fought. Does the PS just keep a record of how many battles you've fought or do you have to fight them consecutively and never lose one or else you have to start again? I've had Locke wounded once and have left him on the airship while other characters built up their levels but does this mean that I have to get him out for another 255 battles or can I continue from where I was with him?

Sorry, but no clue. Are you playing the PSX remake? I only played teh SNES version and didn'T have any problem with leaking MPs or getting the Paladin Shield (fought in Kefkas Tower till I got it) I had it on one char all the time but lost some battles during the time and also saved/turned SNES off/loaded etc.

Cursed gear: 255 battles. You don't have to fight them consecutively. As for Celes, maybe something she is equipped with??

cause some weapons drain MP when you use them so that might be your problem.
check to see if your using THE Ogre nix or the Rune Edge, The punisher also will do it too but she can't equip it without the Merit award.
there might be a few other weapons that use up MP too but I can't think of em now so just check her weapon.

I found mystic quest a good game!i kinda miss it...

I did have her with the rune edge as I can't remember any of the other weapons that she can use runic with, but surely it shouldn't happen when she's just walking around. I might equip her with the Mog bracelet or Moogle charm or whichever it is that lets you avoid battles. Even so, she hardly ever deals the fatal blow with the rune edge. Still a mystery then.
I finally got the Paladin shield though, but I suspected that the game wouldn't tell me when I did, but it surprised me for once and was most kind. So I got rid of the ribbon straightaway.
I haven't played it for ages though as I have it saved just before you fight the boss in Cyan's dream and can't beat the bugger. I know that you have to reduce your party to one member nearly dead, but even when I cast Life 3 just before the last one is about to die, the monster still never appears. He turned up once, but I had just stabbed myself by a couple of points too much and died straightaway. Any help with this would be most appreciated.
