It would be sad if I wasn't so damn exited about Civ3 coming soon, but I am about to play my last game of Civ2, starting tonight.

I will play the Germans with 6 (total) tribes on a large (random)map, barbarians set at raging hordes, at King level. My plan is to actualy build up my civ quite alot before launching a military campaign of conquest ( sometime after everyone's attitude is hostile ).

No cheating and restarting/reloading turns, just one last good solid romp. I will play it right up to the day the package comes to my front door, and see how far I can get. I've heard of civer's getting cities up to size 120, so I'll shoot for that too.

Its my final tribute to my favorite game. If anyone is doing something in tribute, please post! If anyones interested, let's post progress of any 'final games' in the Civ2 Stories.

so i take it that you will never play civ2 again after civ3 comes out? that's too bad, i turn to the classics once every while for some good old games :D

I've heard of civer's getting cities up to size 120,
The limit is 127... go for it!!! I have never made a city larger than 43, because I don't personally use the FCT. But go for the limit!!

Personally, I plan to paly Civ II for years to come, though not as much depending on job, war, Civ III, "normal" recreation, etc. Of course, my other alternative is to dispense with all the above and spend years trying to read von Clausewitz, LOL ;).

Whats the FCT?
It is the Food Caravan Trick.... it is not the same as a food caravan. It merely uses food caravans to supply infinite food for no recurring cost to the home city. Normally, a food caravan should cost (-1) food from the home city. And it will, if you send freight to different cities. But if City A sends to City B time after time, City A can make city B grow with no penalty, up to size 127. That is the FCT. It is discussed in a lot of threads.... search by my name to get more info. Smash has also discussed it in some of his posts, and others have too, I'm sure. :)

For my last playing of Civ2 before Civ3 comes out I hope to play a succession Game(hope I spelled that right!!). I'm trying to recruit in the Stories and Tales section under the Thread:
"New Succession Game?"

If any1's interested then plz enter, after all it is a goodbye from me to Civ2 :(

Thanks:goodjob:
