Here is my most recent LP of Spain on immortal. Just a secret between you and me, this is actually my first time ever playing on this difficulty. I haven't yet confessed it in the series, but I will eventually... hehe

The Spanish gamble is a phrase used in the Civ 5 community, which refers to the amount of luck that is needed for their unique ability to have a significant impact. Spain is granted 500 gold if they are the first to discover a natural wonder and they also receive doubled culture, happiness, and tile yield when it is within their borders.
Clearly, these are potentially massive bonuses that will have a lasting impact for the entire game. The unfortunate part of this unique ability though, is that most Natural Wonders are not easy to find.
The Spanish Conquistador and Tercio are an additional asset to the civ, that can benefit a possible domination victory in the renaissance era. The Conquistader in particular is an incredible unit because it not only has increased vision, but it can also attack cities without the normal mounted unit penalty. This regiment can also even settle a city on foreign contents in the later eras of the game!
