"Fire" Developer Diary

That would be an interesting wonder. I may like that mechanic better than the one we are currently using for the prophecy of ragnarok. The name would have to be changed though, it would be to confusing with the relgion (though I read that book so I know where you are coming from).

Wouldn't it be too much overpowered? If you build the wonder in your hammer powerhouse you can build units really fast, it could also introduce cheesy tactics like building warriors or other cheap and weak units to get a huge number of Armageddon points.
Armageddon points should be perhaps calculated on a ratio:

XXX hammer to build units------>1 Armageddon point

any pictures of angel units? basium is looking like a lot of fun now, will mercurians and infernal be set to not AI chooseable for when you pick random AIs? im a little confused about the is that like the thing i did where units built in a city with a certain religion get a promotion showing their religion? or do only thanes and the like turn into angels?

Sadly they are all currently using existing art. C.Roland is working on one that is turning out nicely and Im hoping will be ready for Friday.

The infernals are the mercurians are not AI pickable at the begining of the game.

A newly built living unit that doesn't already have a religion has a 20% chance of adopting one of the religions from his city. The chance is higher if its the state religion, it is the holy city, and (i think) if there is a temple of that religion in the city. Those units become manes or angels when they die, so it could be any living unit.

There are also a few things that will change that. For example if you have a mage that learns death or entropy magic, hes becomign a mane at death no matter what. Also a unit sacrificed on a demon altar always becomes a mane.

Well theoretically the wonder would give the next say--30 units built an armmegeddon bringer promo. Then the wonder stops doing anything, and the coutner gets +1 for each armegedon coutner promo that exists in play.

very nice.. since similar mechanics work for the cult of the dragon, maybe when a cult unit dies its experience should go to any living dragons around

Seraphims- Powerful attackers that do collateral damage and get access to fire magic.

Argh. Too bad there arent more water or air-based offensive spells yet, as either would seem more fitting.

Do the alignment resitricted paladins and druids mean evil-only Eidolons?

Basium sounds pretty scary...

Pretty sure seraphim is the plural of seraphim - in fact, the singular is sometimes rendered as seraph.

true ... and they should have six wings ;)

Are any changes to order when we are speaking about the good side? I suppose order and basium are independent entities with a common interest? The AV has been tuned much. What about its rival?

the only tweak I personally feel the order needs is a wonder of some sort. no idea what though. And this may already have been addressed.

You probably know how I feel about patterns. :)

Basium works very well under the Order, as the AI he prefers it (but will adopt others). The Order gets decent bonuses vs demons and I suspect human players will prefer it.

I know ;)

The question was mainly about balance. You mentioned that the Order and the AV were less played religions in Light; now there has been a lot of talk about the AV; my concern was that Order wouldn't stay underplayed because the main counter of "evil" is basium now.
Anyway, if there is any disbalance between religions, it'll be known soon.

young religions=good earlie economy
old religions= good power and some economy

So any changes to Basium the Hero unit? Coming in late game as he is now, i can not see him staying at the same values.

I'm presently working on the first angel unit. It should be ready before the first relase. It's alomost done, only some minor things to do.

All the Mercurian units won't be done untill ... a small amount of time. We will wait for more test feedback before to do all the other angels. I wanted to do one before today weekly focus on the Mercurians but I haven't had time. It's the fault of my job, my school and the Hockey.

A quick note on the Mercurian desing, all their unit will look different and they won't have a common look like the Armuties for example.

Mehh, the way the habs are playing right now, you might as well put your time on unit creation instead of watching hockey :p

Alright...now simply because I'm a stickler for alusions.

My argument:
IF something like this was implemented, I want the name to definately be the House of Leaves. Why? Because allusions are fun.

The problem with the religion is understandable, but I dont see it as necessarily a Sheiam or the vale having exclusive rights to this wonder. Granted it LENDS itself to them - but I see the wonder as an anomoly - something that just occurs. I was actually thinking that perhaps it would be less of a "wonder built" and more of a "wonder found". If the armeggedon counter reached X - then the city in the world with Y, would get the House of Leaves. For free. As it is, it could function as either a rubber band effect, OR expediancy of armeggedon.

X and Y:

I'm thinking that when the Counter hits 35? Maybe 40?

Y - Perhaps the city that has the oldest unit in it. (that is to say, of all units in all cities, the one that was built the earliest would get this wonder)

The allusion is half of my joy for the wonder. The precepitation toward armeggedon is a perk.

-Qes

EDIT: Also, "leaves" being a problem for the name because of the Fellowship religion -maintains the madness and confusion. If anything the "Misnomer" increases the flavor instead of detracting from it.
