"Fire" Developer Diary

I just read the diary on the sheaim, very nice.

This new mechanic will radically change the way sheaim are played. I thought it might radically hinder the sheaim until I read a key word: melee.

Again, a fine gameplay addition that adds a unique play style to a civ. :goodjob:

Today's entry is in and all about Basium and the Mercurians.

Thanks :) you saved us ;), can't wait the last week ;)

EDIT Read the entry through again.
The T4 angels seem very powerful. How high are the level requirements exactly? - Ophanim and Seraphim are the toys I always wanted to play with ;) I suppose they must be at least lvl 15? And it is THE Angel of Death, so it is only one? What about others? Do they have the traditional national limits?

They are around level 6 right now. If you guys play and feel the Mercurians are overpowered (very likely in my experience, they kick all kinds of demon butt) we will probably raise those values.

Right now all of the upgraded angels are limited to 3 of each, including the Angel of Death. It is possible we will create a new angel with extremly high level requirements that is unique but we havent added one yet.

I have a lot of questions the new entry make me salivating for the 16 february

-Have the Infernals and Mercurians special features toward religion?
For example are Infernals immune to religions except for AV, (in other words they have an invisible theocracy which forbid any religion except AV)
-About Mercurians: are OO and AV impossible to spread into Mercurians cities, or you can have these evil or neutral-evil religions inside Angels cities?
-Do Basium have some mechanics which purify conquered cities from AV?
-Can we have some screenshots of Mercurians Gate Wonder, Basium or something which is related to Basium please:)

Another question: if only neutrals can have druids now, do evil and good civs have only archmages let to terraform?

The Infernals are very linked to the AV. As an AI player they will never switch off of it, I may not allow them to even if they are human.

Basium doesn't care about religion and will switch to anything but the Ashen Veil. All religions can spread into Mercurian cities. The mercurians can even set the OO as their state religion.

The Mercurians cant currently "purify" cities like you mean. As the AI the Mercurians will raze every AV city they take over (welcome to Basium's method of purification).

Archmages and Fellowship priests and high priests. There is a lot of focus on good and evil in "Fire", moving Druids to Neutral only gave neutral players a nice perk.

Does this mean we can expect less "seas of unending tigers" that one must wade through when trying to reach goals? The orange and black fur went for leagues i tell you, leagues!

I highly doubt that the Angel of Death would come down only to serve a lowly angel like Basium... And Kael alredy said Bhall and Agares would not be entering Erebus, why would Arawn be doing so ? And he said you can build 3 of them... So, nahhh it´s not Arawn ;D

WOW! Just read the last three updates and I'm am amazed at the creativity and dedication it takes to make this mod!! I've worked on mods in the past for other games and FFH2 is one of the most detailed and complete mods for any game! Looking foward to Fire!

Firaxis and Sid need to pay you guys.
