"Fire" Developer Diary

Personally I'd wait for Kael's OK and the correct link in the Bugs thread, but I understand the desire to jump the gun a bit.

It seems to work perfectly fine for me, no hint of any CTD.

I was playing as Sheaim and teched to infernal pact and switched to the Infernals. I assumed that since he's got the Barbarian trait that I would be at peace with the barbarians, but apparently that isn't the case? I've been pillaged by barbarian boats and attacked by orc spearmen so far. That makes getting the Armageddon counter up a bit crazy considering the barbarian heroes that it causes to spawn. Also, my turns auto-end every turn after I've finished moving my units (as if I had hit the end turn button, but I didn't). Anyone else encounter these bugs?
I have only played for an hour so far but I encountered the same auto-end problem as you did. I managed to solve it by going into my options and de-selecting and then once again selecting the option of not automatically ending a turn.(Can't remember the name of the option exactly right now. )

loving it so far, no ctd`s yet. was wondering if the armageddon clock is supposed to be in city view screen? I`ve always just used the little arrows to scroll thru citys and it blocks from going backwards , im in 1024 x768 mode. Whats the keyboard stroke to cycle backwards in city view mode, anyone know? thank you.

Now, ive downloaded it, but how can you choose the infernals to play whith, the civ is not in civolopedia...

you have to discover the ashen veil in order to take controll of the infernals or become deplomatic partners with them.

This isn't, exactly, a bug. Way back when, before I found FfH, I played the Amravolution mod--when you switch from one civ to the other in that, the same thing occurs. The problem, I think, is that you're moving from the "player" to "AI" in the game's logic, which will cause that little error, of sorts. Anyway, thanks for giving us a fix to the issue, as I never really looked into the matter.

Oh, and on another matter--I killed Basium within three turns of his appearance using Rosier. :D

Ah, so your on the evil side...:mwaha: is there any good in the world anymore!!! (answer:  )

Why are barbs (living - e.g. orcs and goblins) allowed to pass through fire squares but my living units (Sheiam) are not?

This is because any unit with 20% or more fire resistance can move through fire squares. The orcish promotion gives +25% fire resistance. Therfore, orcs can move through fire squares.

If you give your living units the magic resistance promotion they will be able to move through. But that is a late promotion (unless you have the magic resistant trait) and the simple way is to have an adept with water 1 cast spring next to it to dowse the flames.

I have no internet at home, only the IE that one gets with winxp pro when he install it. I hope I can play it.

We found the problem, the CtD is caused by having "Show Health Bars" set in the game options. Disable that and you should be fine.

I notice in my second game as Tebryn Arbandi of Sheaim teamed with Jonas Endain of the Clan of Embers that since first contact every Ai player has considered me their worst enemy, even Belseraphs. Is there a purposeful reason for this or is it a possible bug?

Edit: I just founded the Viel and Hyborem sees me as his worst enemy as well..
