Just cleared out my cookies in Firefox and noticed I had a ton of them - I deleted all but ones for sites I go to (CFC, GMail, etc.). However, I know that for other sites I just go to because of a link someone posts or something like that, I don't want a cookie - so how can I set it so it asks me when I go to a site and tries to add a cookie whether or not I want to accept it?

Or should I just turn all cookies off, and put all sites I go to under Exceptions? Or is there another method?

yes, don't worry much about them. they are not worth your time, and in the end you gain nothing: there are billion(s) of people accepting cookies.

On an old computer when I used to accept all cookies with Internet Explorer I remember once I had like thousands and thousands of them ... I remember they took up a LOT of space! I think it's because of the physical cluster size (difference between logical size and the size on disk -- try clicking on file properites to see)

I think accepting too many cookies could fragment or wear out your hard drive, but that' just my uninformed guess.
