Spoiler :
Hey, I wanted to post this to try to get some advice. The leader is Willem Van Oranje of The Netherlands, and he is CRE, FIN. As stated, this is Emperor level.

The start is irrigated corn, two clams, and a fish.

This is my first Emperor level game, because I was winning too easily on Monarch. Hopefully I will do well.

Should I SIP, move to the plains hill or something else.

SIP looks pretty solid and you don't need the river for the Dike with Willie. Settling on PH might give a bonus but would take the south clams completely out of play. Plus, there's a good chance that PH is copper or iron. City could be a potential GP farm later with a cap move, but is excellent for getting up your empire.

Post a save and others might play along.

WB>Worker (work a 3 hammer PH if you have one for the WB or 1f2H - chop the others)

Mining>BW

I settled in place and went Mining-> Agriculture ->Bronze Working. I build Work Boat -> Worker -> Warrior. There is no copper on the hill, sadly. There is probably iron, however.

??? You start with Agriculture

It will probably be prudent later in the game to move your palace to a more central, higher production spot and make that city a GP farm. lighthouse, irrigate the corn after civil service, if i'm not mistaken thats 22 food from four tiles. It doesnt get much better than that.

Perhaps he learned how to brew beer and forgot?:crazyeye:

Judging by his nose, Willem looks like he enjoys a bit of a tipple...

OK enough looking start, but what has your warrior revealed so far? Will early commerce be a problem?
