First-Person Shooters?

If you buy any FPS and plan to play it online, do NOT buy a microphone and use it ingame until you are at least 16 simply because it's not worth the huge levels of abuse you are guaranteed to get.

Forget having an age, listen to the convos (some games like any using the Source engine and Red orchestra you can hear the convos ingame without having to have vent), experiance on the intrawebs and also a deepish vocie are required.

Anyone with a high-pitched voice will be ridiculed 99% of the time.

Which is the main reason why I havn't bought a mic.

I've got a mic but only for the 360. After a few years playing Counter Strike it kind of saps the life out of you... for the most part, I've only had the rare instance of a squeaker on the xbox thankfully.

Squeaker - A Squeaker is generally defined as a gamer on voice chat that has not yet hit puberty, or has an abnormally high-pitched voice. Squeakers will often use a ridiculous abundance of profanity to try to offset their lack of audible maturity. The devastating prepubescent shrill of the squeaker has been known to shatter eardrums and melt brains into mush.

A swift well-placed throat punch is the most effective way to silence a squeaker. However, until technology allows us to deliver throat punches through a broadband connection, keep those headset mute buttons at the ready.

Borrowed from Ctrl+Alt+Del. I'd post the actual comic but there's a few naughty words ;)

My voice is pretty deep, even though I'm only 12 (but I'll be 13 in January).

Oh, and I have a Wii now. I had it since last Sunday, but I don't really play on it much.

The combo squeekers are the worst, the worst ive come across so far is the souithern accented squeeker. Its absolutely deafening.

DUDE.

You have a Wii that can also play Gamecube.

Three words:

METROID PRIME SERIES.

I'm not exactly into sci-fi stuff.

Metroid Prime. Okay, maybe the first one, but I somehow feel weird about buying Gamecube games when I have a Wii. My cousin brothers have the game, and once they came and were playing it on my Gamecube on my birthday party. I had no idea that everybody thought that it was such a good game then!

I'm leaning towards Call of Duty and its exp pack for the PC.

If you like Star Wars:

Jedi Outcast
Jedi Academy

(Dark Forces can be played on DOSbox, but I doubt there are any retailers that still have them nor are there any old school gamers here)

Dark Forces is still my favourite of the entire franchise! I never really got the hang of lightsaber duels. The train-level in Jedi Academy was admittedly quite cool, though.
