I am constantly getting a problem with Civilization 4 popping an error message up usually after a sudden move of the screen(like going out of a city). The error message reads:
(failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings.) Then it has the file:\Source\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9VBManager.cpp, line:1019 crap.
As shown in the log below, it has this error on different lines including: 1019, 314, (565 this one is rare), and 170. This is 1/50 of the app log showing that it was out of VRAM. I noticed in the game that certain textures turned black. The scouts textures actually turned black and some furry animals on the playing area were this way also. I have a Radeon Mobility X1400 graphics card with the latest Omega drivers on on it. The drivers from the manufacturer did it this way also. I have a 6400/E1505 Dell laptop. I have the latest drivers for directx and I have 1GB RAM with 1.5GB of virtual memory. I can't play the game because it even does this on the smallest map and I haven't even built my first city yet! Sometimes it gets a little farther, but not to much at all. When I turn off the (no memory allocation) warning all the textures eventually start to disappear and it crashes to the desktop and it then says it couldn't read memory or something like that.
