Yes, it shows a number of things but am not sure where I would find the event relating to my problem, as it doesn' appear to be date stamped.
 
I did check my windows logs although that became irrelevant as I tried to load the game again last night and low and behold it now works (before the cursor just carried on rotating without ever loading whereas this time it started after about a couple of minutes).

I checked it a few times and it appears to be fine. I did clean my registry and synchronised my files not long beforehand. I can't think why else it should suddenly work but still, should'nt complain. Thank you for your assistance though ori. Happy gaming.
 
After I installed some updates for my civ IV, i couldn't use it at all. An error message would come up. I tried to remove the program completely but it wouldn't let me do that. I want to just uninstall it and then install it again but an error comes up when I use my computers "add/remove programs" tool.
 
Hi, I have a problem with running Beyond the Sword. It says I need to use a profile on my computer with administrator privileges, which I am. But it still won't let me play. I even tried creating a second admin profile and it still did not work. I'm using Windows Vista, does anyone know what I can maybe do to fix this problem?

I am new to the forum, but not the game. Trying to find a solution to a strange problem with game. This is for civiv Beyond the Sword. After playing the game for a while, maybe half an hour or more, the game will come up with the background, but not the armies! How can I resolve this problem? Thank you!!
 
Just bought Civ 4 Gold edition and after loading the game i get an permission denied message telling me to log on with administrator access and try again, but the user I'm logged on with is the administrator account. How do I fix this so that I can start playing the game?

I have a similar problem to funfsinn14. I installed the new patch but i got an error at the very end of installation saying that there is no source for the game. Then when i tried to reinstall it i got another error saying that there is already an installation in progress. I tried deleting the file that you told the last person to ask to delete and it didn't help me at all it then completely stopped me from bringing anything up when i clicked remove in the add/remove in control panel. I also have the exact same error message as funfsinn14. When i try and run the game it comes up saying that i am missing the D3DX9_32.DLL file and to reinstall the program but i can't, a little help would be fantastic.

Sorry i should have included that. It is the cd game of the year edition version, and this is only civ4. It really isn't allowing me to reinstall it because of that error and saying that i have another installation procedure running even after i delete the file.
 
Ya that was the only file i removed was the installshield file it had the setups for both the patch and the total game in it though. Then when i removed that file it wouldn't do anything when i clicked on remove in add/remove programs.
 
I have recieved a error after updating to 1.71 patch "error loading shader libraries, I've baught the chronicles pack with the DVD.

The game was working perfectly before, but now it's not playing
