I installed Civ IV on my second computer so my wife could play when I needed to work...well, ran into some problems. After setting up either a solo or network game, it would freeze when the display showed "Done". Nothing occured in the background, etc. Left it in that state for about 10 minutes with no change.
I tried several things, Video drivers, DX9c, reinstall, etc. No change.
After a while, I decided to look at the minimum requirements listed on the take2 site...well, lo and behold, it's different than the box. The box says min requirements are 256 MB RAM...the website says min requirements are 256 MB RAM for Win2K and 512 MB RAM for Win XP.
I added a second stick of RAM and everything worked fine after that.
Oh, the rest of that system specs are Radeon 9600 128 MB, Athlon 2500+, Abit NF7S motherboard using the Nvidia on-board sound.
