Flexible Difficulty / Flexible AI

So the game could be more challenging by toning up the revolutions for really big and strong empires.
I agree with this. While I really like the changes made to revs, maybe the large empire factor should be increased. I shouldn't be allowed to rule half of the world without difficulties!
 
Resurrecting an old thread, but the topic fits my question perfectly:

Is there a way to set separate Flexible Difficulty boundaries for the player and the AI? For example I'd like to have the difficulty for me at Prince-Emperor, and the AI hovering somewhere 1-2 levels around Noble (which is the default for the AI I think?).

I would also very much like to be able to do this. The problem I have with AI Flexible Difficulty is that the larger AI's, the ones who are able to threaten me and so make the game interesting, get their difficulty levels increased to the point that they are nothing like as threatening as they would be if all were on noble. It seems to me that this makes the highest difficulty much lower than without AI Flexible Difficulty.
