I hardly ever wear a hat. It has to be extremely cold or wet for me to do so.

They used to be almost compulsory, though. But I've never really understood it. Doesn't the natural oil in your hair make keeping the interior of a hat clean practically impossible? (Especially that bit round the inside of the head band, what or ever it's called.)

Still, hats!

Only the hats people have on in film productions of prose by Dickens are deemed as real hats in my view ;)

As for me, i never wore an actual hat, although while i was in England i had to use the wool-made head-clothing to protect myself against the hyperborean cold during the winter :/

Needs more hats. However, all you have to know is essentially one thing: Stetsons are cool.

The Varangian guard looks very cool in my view too:

All Byzantine army helmets look cool. :D

I particularly like the Kataphraktoi ones, look pretty scary

Also like the style of the leftmost one in this pic:

Some Byzantine military helmets do remind me of Middle Eastern or even Chinese ones, which is fine, makes the Byzantines seem more epic than those silly Western medieval knights.

I'm a fan of the ushanka:

Though I only own a cheap knock-off version.

There are only two real legitimate hats in the world, and one is actually called a cover, so really only one hat and one cover. Everything else is a crappy wannabe.

Stetsons are cool
