Okay, final update. I've been busy for a while, haven't even checked out Civfanatics or played Civ IV in a couple days. No pics because when I tried downloading a trial version of photoshop, my computer freaked out. Also, the game runs REALLY slow from the industrial era onward, it took me like 10 minutes per turn when I had no units to move. Taking a screenie and saving it once in the industrial era caused my game to crash and my computer to freak out, again. Sorry, I didn't write down the years, but here is what has happened:
- I conquered Delhi, no problem. I also used a spy for the first time, stopped them from producing a cannon. It was really useful.
- Passed the environmentalism civic resolution in the UN, only India abstained.
- Razed a few cities on islands the Indian had built. They were scattered all over the map, real nuisances. Didn't both to write down their names, I just razed them anyway.
- Conquered Bangalore. Total pushover, they had like two longbowmen defending.
- Actually lost a battle, at Kolhapur. They had about 4 marines and attacked my invasion force, and something like 18 riflemen. My force was slaughtered. I was planning on conquering India for the fun of it then winning a diplomatic victory, but I guess I'll go for the diplomatic victory right away.
- India and China are on a very interesting continent, full of lakes and peninsulas and isthmuses. Rather than facing certain death down south (the anti-stack of doom barrages are really troublesome when there is 1 tile to walk down), I send what's left of my army north. I use tanks and choppers mostly, I got tired of having to follow my infantry at a snail's pace. I conquered Calcutta, but again almost lost my entire army.
- I just go for the diplomatic victory, and win easily. I was up against Napoleon, but got both other votes (Inca and China).
