I'll make this short and sweet.

I'm the elves, and I believe someone cast a world spell that started fires in forest hexes all over the map.

Is there anything I can do to limit the spread of the fires?

Feel free to email a response, or I will check here as well.

Regards,

Adepts with water I can put them out, but unless you already have them on hand they probably wont come in time. Burnt forests will eventually regrow though.

And then burn again, and regrow, and burn again.

I often go around starting fires to try to keep the elves in check. I've made some massive fires that blazed across the entire continent. It's fun being a pest sometimes. :D

Make yourself a fire break. As long as you don't have any forests on the very edge of your empire, the fires won't spread to your lands. How do you think I keep it out of mine when I start those fires? :P

The pyro you're looking for is probably Acheron, the Red Dragon. He fires meteors at everything that moves, and starts plenty of fores fires that way. I learned this in an Arboria map the hard way.

Worldspell of Tebryn's civ called "Worldbreak" have also nice effect on forests(especially if AC is high)

The meteors make the fire?! I always thought it came with his arrival. I never ever knew meteors could make fire... I was thinking surely just ring of fire/blaze. Interesting...

Ancient forests can't burn, so rush to FoL (if you haven't already).

I think ancient forests burn now.. with difficulty but they can

ah ok. I see

Funnyenough it is not a hostile action, so I always have a couple of travellers blazing their way through treehuger territory. ^_^
