Forest Preserve question

Hmm, in my last game Boudica had a camp on a tile that also had jungle on it. If building a camp removes the jungle, and jungle can't spread to tiles with improvements, how then could this happen?

Building a camp does not remove jungles.

Forest Preserves do nothing to fight Global Warming, correct?

Personally I think as a conservation type measure it should, Globabl Warming is horriffically irritating in Modern Starts after about the third or fourth nuclear war (though to be blunt nuclear wars cause Nuclear Winter, not Global warming but whatever).

I can't use Barbarians to pillage my railroads. I'm one of those types who actually build a freaking great wall! Besides, by the time I have forest preserves, there are no more Barbs as there is no more land for them to appear on.
Short of nuking the square with a tactical nuke, I can't get rid of that one railroad!

1. Give city to friend/super weak A.I.

2. Declare War on them.

3. Pillage improvements.

4. Declare peace and have friend give you back city. or

5. re-take city.

I realize this isn't ideal, but if you need to get rid of roads, I'd think it's better than nuking.

I <3 my National Park cities. The last few games I've captured an enemy capital pre-BC with 16+ forest squares around it and it has become my NP+NE city. Once that thing comes online my economy skyrockets and my great people production is amazing.

At that point you're exploiting game mechanics so much that you might as well open up worldbuilder.

Is WorldBuilder available in multiplayer?

And I wouldn't really call that an exploit, since really I should be able to pillage my own roads as it is.

I don't want to do that either. There's nothing wrong with a tactical nuke to the tile. I can then draft up new defences if applicable

Can forests spread to tiles with a resource (not improved) in it ? And does the presence of the resource affect chances ?

You shouldn't be able at all. That would make one of the best and hardest (to achieve) promotions useless (namely, commando).

Not sure. If it's not, you can always boot up the game in single-player, fix things, then boot it back up in multi. Unless that's not possible now.

Last time this was possible was in Civilization 3...

It can spread to tiles with resources (I had a forest spread to two deer tiles in my current game). I don't know how it alters chances.

Lame. Why would they remove that capability?

And I think you should be able to pillage your own roads. I already only build roads in areas that I will definitely need them because of Commando (even though the AI never gets it, haha).

I concur you should be able to destroy your own roads/improvements.

It just makes sense to have those options.
