One vital fix for next patch:

Automated workers build forts obsessively on resources.

Yeah, I'd prefer they build workshops to improve shield production.

ehh whats wrong with that, they only build forts if you cant use the plot for a city, and the fort gives you more bonuses than a mine would outside city radius, and if you didnt know, you DO get the resource

Doesn't change the fact that it looks ugly.

I can't imagine why you think that worker automation should correspond to your aesthetic sensibilities rather than the most useful improvement. A fort outside your borders provides useful protection for the resource, while a mine or plantation does not. If you don't like it, don't automate your workers.

I mean, really, if I thought that workshops looked better than plantations, I still wouldn't expect automated workers to put them on sugar.

what do you mean it gives more bonuses ?? Please explain as I read somewhere else that it would give you bonuses but I didnt see the point (beside protecting that uber important copper from pillaging maybe, by adding a unit or two that is)

you can now move ships into forts, and even make channels, 2forts max. you can station air units there. it sort of works like a city, except no radius citizens and so on

He means that outside your city radius a fort on copper will give you access to the copper plus a defensive bonus for units trying to protect it, whereas a mine gives you access to the copper but no other bonuses.

Better for protecting the resource, allows ships to enter (can be used as canal) and most importantly later on, can house 4 air units. This is helpful as cities can only hold 4 too without an airport.

is there a needed minimum distance between two forts?

if not, then it can be an exploit by use of airforce...

No distance requirement, but there is a limit on the number of aircraft that can be based in one particular fort (4, I think)

Can you build forts on all resources?

Say instead of a plantation? Because you get forst with math, already, so you'd be able to get plantations before calendar?
