Forum Server Upgrade Next Month

What is going on. Service is worse than before. I had to sneak in via a side entrance.

Guys, it is a sign of respect not to trash another person's server.

Deliberately putting it under strain will get the search wildcards removed - please show restraint!

I wasn't trying to trash the server. I don't know how to use the wildcard thingie, hence i don't. I was merely searching for some of my threads so i could provide link(s). I wouldn't want to trash this server cause i like it --- and ive had "The server is busy" a few times since

@Nap: Yep, I got that once shortly after the server upgrade. And a couple of server busy messages. Overall it seems to be better though (on my computer, at least; doesn't seem to be the case on others').

Why can't we all *pretend* to be happy that the server is a lot faster and that we can search now?

I remember the last upgrade, everyone was happy because it was far faster than before.

Upgrading the server doesn't mean everything will line up perfectly immediately. We still need to optimize it for vBulletin. This process could take several days.

Wild card search was disabled a few hours ago and will remain disabled forever. Also upped the time between searches to 30 seconds from 15. The good news is there is no plan to disable search again.

At the moment, the server load is less than 1 even though 250 users are online. So there is definitely a difference before and after the upgrade.

Server Load Averages 0.51, 0.73, 0.90
250 users online (125 members & 125 guests).

I set the forum to give server busy signals when the load is 14 or higher.

The server time is fixed now, but unfortunately this probably messed up the email notification again, for a while at least.

Logged in user dont seem to show up at the top of forums.

And Im not sure my Buddy list is working. It lloks like people are online who I dont think are in the control panel.

Also I think my posts are not showing up after I post.......

Thats about it, Graet job getting a server upgrade, Im sure the bugs will be fixed quickly!

Bug report: I just replied to this thread and my post went right after the first one, instead of going one page two as it should have... The posting dates of the other posts seems to be messed up.
And thanks for the new server TF I have had NO problem with dupes or inaccesible pages since the upgrade, while I used to have a lot before.

edit: same bug with this post. it appears earlier in the thread that it should. While the date & time of my post appears correcly to me, the date & time of the other posts appears to be sometime in the futur... weird.

Surfing the thread? What do you mean? Unless I'm misunderstanding you, it's never shown who's surfing the thread.

When you go to the home page of a forum (eg. Civ3 GD) On the top it tells you who else is there.
