The server was last upgraded in November I think. This will be a bigger upgrade compared to the last one. I expect the down time not to exceed 2 hours, most likely only an hour.

Forum server upgrade will take place tomorrow (saturday) afternoon! The process should take less than two hours... most likely one.

Yes, the search feature will be permanantly turn on after the upgrade.

I've gotten used to not using the search feature to view all new posts, so I won't use it anymore unless actually searching for a particular item.

I know that the search feature will be disabled eventually. It won't be long until we need to use all that extra juice.

In a side note, I was ticked when I couldn't "search for all posts by this user" in the profile. I wanted to know what was Col's 2300th post but I couldn't.

A beta version of vBulletin 3.0 is available for download. I don't think I will install it though. Using this precious forum to beta test things is the last thing we want to do.

I will install a copy of vB 3.0 beta on my local computer though to check out all the new features.

I do have another server but the license only allowed installation on one internet server unfortunately.

Has the server been upgraded already? "Feels" faster.
