During the following turns, give all our techs to Sally & GW.

Reorganise Mount City (GP farm) to max GPP for a new GP in 5t (to have a Golden Age with the GS, if we manage to avoid the 3% GS risks).

We are quite (more exactly very) unhealthy, so I reorganise cities for better production and no more growth. Also get the lazy workers to build a few workshop over some farm to increase production.

Change build orders at the border to Wall then Castle. Then decide to do it also in most cities as castles are giving EP, and even if it is not needed, it is in the spirit of the game (+ we are protective with stone, so we will have several huge overflows in big cities turning into gold for upgrades).

Regroup our troops to Athens (at the junction Shaka/Mehmet), Spiro (Shaka center) and New Orleans (Mehmet NE corner) in America for our troops that were deep inside Arabia.

T2 - 1734

Steal Physics from Mehmet (we have all his tech now, next will be constitution in a few turns).

The important line is: Shaka is free again... that is not a good idea for him.

Turn Leonidas, our spare GG into a speed 2 medic 3 maceman (in the Athens stack) as we are still (or again) without a serious healer..

T5 - 1740
GE born.
I Stop playing there

Plan should be quite simple now :
1. start a GA,
2. Declare on Shaka only and take the 15% land we need to win.

The only sligthly less optimal thing is that our biggest stack in New Orleans (with some still healing) will not see any action or need to cross Mehmet lands first (we have OB and lots of trade, so not a big deal)

Victory conditions,we are not that far now.

Your account is probably full on CivFanatics, that's why you can't upload. Just delete some of the old uploads and you should be able to upload fine me thinks.
 
Good to see that we don't need to war the Turk.... I hate to break such a nice store of techs ;)

Jabah, if needed, use a external server for the save , like rapidshare
 
I have 'only' 7Mo out of the 60 allowed, and some people seem to have the same problem with the SGOTM system today, so it is probably on the CFC server side.

We don't know how much land shaka has, right? Otherwise we easily know how much we get if we vassalized him instantly and know how far to take the war. I don't like waiting to pop borders :hammer:
 
Took a quick peek around our cities, looks okay for the most part. Only a few minor changes to work better tiles.

We have an GE and a GS at Mound city. Were there any indications on how to use them? I don't remember reading any, so I left them for the next player to use.

I had considered blowing the war-horn this turn, but I noticed this right outside Spiro

And the stack at Spiro has only 1 treb. I decided to hold off until I can get more trebs there.

After several turns in, a stack of healed unit pop up at the border or Mehmed that I hadn't noticed before. I sent it towards Nodwengu.

During the IBT, Shaka sent his entire stack of trebs at our stack outside kwaDukuza as well as all his grens and curassiers. Our stack survived the attack with heavy casualties. Then Mehmed declared on us, now the fun begins :D

Don't worry about the defense at Mehmed's cities, they're mostly airships with 2/3 real defenders. I suggest giving Rifling to Washington and Saladin to help them out, they're aren't doing very well. Have fun.

Nice warring there. I am still wondering if AI take into account the DoW when accepting voluntary vassal ... seems pretty foolish of Mehmed to accaept if AI did.

Anyway, game is pretty much in the bag ... just need 10 more percent of land. Not that it matters, but we seems to be neglecting the draft ... keep Etruscan on the draft for a free rifleman, shall we? Also, we should probably steal Liberalism ... I bet someone already have communism which we want. When we do, start a golden age.

One way or another, let's finish the game.

The great ppl were for a GA I think.

We need to cut mehmed a bit so shaka breaks free (again) or we have to vassalize mehmed first (and then win the game) but we'd still be at war with shaka, gaining nothing but losing units (occasionally) so I say redirect some units to fight mehmed. If his power curve dropps, shaka should break free soonish and vassalize to us.
 
Strange that Mehmet had accepted to vassalise Shaka while at war...

Maybe it was not clear enough (just a little line in my report)
The GPPs were for a Golden Age (they still can do it of course)
We had 3 stacks including 1 healing in New Orleans (all group set to healing since I didn't expect Mehmet to go to war that soon, and I didn't know that ALL would be waiting for the last very injured unit to heal before 'prompting' the player again).
 
Well, I was preparing for a long and hard war..... :cool:

But it wasn't meant to be :(

The Turk decided to launch a feeble attack with cuiraseers on Sal ( 3 + 1 ) and 3 of them passed by our territory, right in front of some drafted rifles :devil: After the inevitable, sudently mehemed ( but not Shaka ) was willing to talk peace:

Even the last turnset, which promised to be an exciting war but turn out to be a complete walkover, I learnt something as well - I thought it should be a conquest victory when you vassalized the whole world.

Anyhow, the espionage game does seems a little overpowered if you nab the Great Wall, and especially if you are also allowed to research at the same time (using specialist, which unfortunately we couldn't and thus wasting our spiritual trait). We offset it somewhat by choosing a leader with relatively weak (in terms of synergizing with espionage) traits. I think financial+organized would make a great combination (as was pointed out earlier in this thread before the game was started).

Now to the matter of the next Fox game ... Well, I am due to disappear for 3 weeks late August (exactly one month from now). I doubt an SG can complete in 4 weeks ... yes, even a Fox-SG :lol: .... so that's why it will be delayed til my life return to normal.

I think we must have won both a domination AND a conquest victory (you sure win a conquest when you vassalise everyone, I don't think the game force you to play until you have enough land/people for domination - that or it is called domination even if you don't have the required land/people).

The game checks if you won DOM before it checks CONQ. If you get enought land you win. In ICS02 we also vassalized everyone but we vassalized "too early", leaving us with not enought land so it was conquest.

I guess you mean the "Philosophical" trait ;) :rolleyes:
I was glad we went with SB, he's one of the underdog leaders and no one likes him (probabely because he's so hard to rush) so it was a nice change.
 
Yup. I'll just echo everyone in saying that it's a good game. Glad I was a part of it.
 
Now since Mr Fox will be away for some time I thought we could play another AW game anyway. Would anyone be interested in it?

We could call it FOX anyway, FOX-35 probabely, the next "real" fox game will be #40 anyway I think :p
