Fox06 - Waiting For Swords

Impartial Bad Joke Judge. Results so far!

Shyuhe - He plays a classic! 8/10!

Imhotep - Not bad at all...okay, no really bad! 7.5/10!

r_rolo1 - DREADFUL joke, but the punch line was so darn long I caught myself with a smile! 5/10

Greyfox - Give a man a joke, make him laugh for a day...! 3/10

Oh gosh this is SUCH fine fun...

Now, that joke is as bad as the brown and sticky one.

I presume the Great Wall was to accumulate GE points ... the Metal Casting on the other hand is debatable. Yes, early MC forge to get GE is a great idea ... but not in an OCC. OCC is such that we would probably be running lots of specialists such that gene pollution is inevitable.

IMHO, it is better to go for library (probably whip it) and research literature and start running scientists.

--

Yup, the GW was for the GE points mainly ( if we are going to war in the future the GG bonus may help as well. Besides that, BTS GW gives GSpy points...I wanted to remember old days :p ).
The TGL passed in my mind as well ( and I'm letting the city to grow unhappy exactly because of library :whipped: ). I reckon that it is a better move than my MC idea ( you can note my OCC noobness here :p )

alphabet --> literature for the GL sounds like a good idea. Hopefully we can trade for math in the process so that we can build an aqueduct. Shouldn't we sign OB with everybody both for the relation bonus and for the eventual trade routes/religion spread?

Ok, Ok... I managed to get away from the in-laws earlier than predicted! :woohoo:

So, this is my got it.

We can :whipped: the GW now. Do you think it's worthy? Or do you think the eventually gold earned for missing it should be better?
With the double GE points we can safely rush the Great Library as soon as Literature comes online. Well, even without it. But if we can manage the GW, we can only think of offensive military from now on....
Choices, choices....

I'll play sometime later tonight and report in less than 24 hours. ;)
I need a good bad joke to compete here.... You guys are good! :D

did someone say bad jokes?

I grasshopper walked into a bar and the barman says "Hey, we have a drink named after you!" To which the grasshopper replies ...

Spoiler :

What? Harold?

That grasshopper joke is old, and bad!

Congrats on the early escape, FB :hide:

I think we could let the GWall finish, and whip the library. That will mean we can neglect military for a while. However, why did you say offense military? We have no aggressive ambition here. We do need a few defenders because even though our only enemy (barbies) can't trouble us, some AI may decide the wheat on grassland is a world wonder that they must have.

But it is generally a good thing to be able to neglect military and concentrate other things wondrous, since the key in winning high-level OCC is about monopolizing all the wonders.

Everybody should pray hard for a religious spread. We need it ...

First of all, the joke:

What's a green dot at the top of a building?

Spoiler :
A suicidal pea

Now onto business:

Okay, where did I put that Warlords CD? Hm.. Hm...
[searches the bottom of all the drawers...]
Yeah, found it!
[wipes the dust away from it]

The game loads! Ruff mod loads! Impressive! :mischief:

I'll gamble waiting for the wall to finish... Everything else seems ok. Change research to Alphabet. and HIT ENTER.
TWICE!
THRICE!
fox07thegreatwallfk8.jpg

Nice!
Started on the Library. Sign of :smoke:: didn't whip it.
Washington founds and converts to Confucianism.
After the library finished, I employed 2 Citizens (yeah) to help with alpha. I'd rather get the GE for the Great Library... I know we cannot leave the gene pool clean later, but for now, even a Citizen specialist gives us 3 beakers...

I :whipped: the Granary after that... with max overflow... A whole 51 hammers... And I was "forced" to build walls in Moscow. It was wither it or a worker for 2 turns. I don't know what to do with our current one... It was only 1 turn worth of building. Sorry...

Well, after this point, I had no buildings to build. So, I built these:
fox07axemenwf4.jpg

Two of them.

Hannibal converted to Judaism... We're the only ones without religion. Our deadlock is still open..

On my turn 16 (or 17, don't know), I got this:
fox07alphabetin3.jpg

And stopped playing. why? Take a look at this screen:
fox07tradesxt0.jpg

I set research to Mysticism and building to research, but no beakers/hammers invested yet.

fox07moscowsf4.jpg

So, I think we have 12 turns for our GE, if we want to be sure it's a GE. Less if Mr. Fox doesn't care. It may be the right timing for getting literature (Myst + Poly + Lit). The growth is set to when the whip anger expires...

Mr. Fox, feel free to unleash your :gripe:!

Nice Bad joke.... :vomit:

Ont the hot stuff. Hatty surely has the 2 techs we need besides Lit to get the GLibrary( she founded hinduism... ) and is the only to not have IW. Wang Kon has Maths... So if there is need to a urgent tech trade fest ( IMHO we should wait until currency, but it may be needed earlier ) we should focus on this two.
If we hold the tech trades,I would keep the GP pool pure until the GE pops out... having the GLibrary some turns sooner can make a lot of diference and another GP now would not be as good as that. But that came from my 20 turn experience in OCC ( read: noob :p ), so other people advice probably is far better than mine.

Where is our impartial judge? Anyway, my bad joke is at the bottom of the report.

Feedback want some gripe? I will give you one:

fox07-BC0475-city.jpg

WTH are we working on 4F1C tile when there is a 5F1C tile? I changed it until the city will grow next turn and change back to work on mine to avoid redshirt (and I give myself a gripe: I didn't notice the whip penalty fading away until later in my turnset :hammer2:).

Someone said we are middle in culture ... that will change soon.

fox07-BC0350-culture.jpg

It is almost too easy to accumulate culture in OCC.

Decided to finish mysticism ourself, and trade for poly+ fishing later:

fox07-BC0425-hatty-trade.jpg

Then, I noticed Parthenon is still available, so I go for it, only to realize 2 turns later someone built it:

fox07-BC0300-parthenon.jpg

That guy must have rushed it with engineer ... hmm, if we have both Pyramids and GWall, how did that dude pop an engineer so fast?

Well, on a bright side, we got money. And what can money buy? Gems, apparently:

fox07-BC0275-gens.jpg

Is that Sid Meier's way of consoling us for missing the Parthenon? Darn, why must it be gems? We already got gems. rather it be gold or silver! And darn again, that means losing one hammer from the mine (although having 6 more gold is great, I must admit).

We got our engineer soon, and although I am pretty confident of building the TGLibrary (since no one has alphabet yet), I must agree that having the TGLibrary as soon as possible can only be a good thing. Plus we have other things to build. I am, for instance, trying to get the ToA. I did thought of rushing ToA and building TGLibrary by hand, but TGLibrary is more crucial and we don't really need ToA, plus I have already invested some hammers to ToA (not to mention TGLibrary is 50 hammers more expensive).

Thus ...

fox07-BC0125-TGLibrary.jpg

I switched back the citizens to scientist and go for Drama next. Without a religion, we want theatre ASAP.

On a totally different and unexpected note, we fight our first battle (and prevailed).

Did I say battle? Did the war horn blow?

Relax ... it's just barbs.

fox07-BC0125-axe.jpg

The axe has one more promo left, I suggest going for cover so that the axe can attack the barb city. We want to snatch the city before Hatty does. The city will gain us some good resources and money. And since somehow we can't build settlers, capturing barb cites is a good way to expand.

>>> The Save (125BC) <<<

Okay, I am sure my joke (which is along the same theme) is worst than the previous one ;)

Roster
-- GreyFox == Thinking of expanding
>> Imhotep == Pyramids is built before Imhotep
-- Shyuhe == Brown and sticky
-- Feedback == suicidal pea (or is it pee?)
--r_rolo1 == trying to find chicks crossing the road

Well, in my defense, I told you so! :p
I don't like seeing red shirts in the city... And I admit: I would forget changing the tiles if I didn't match the turns with the whip penalty...

Okay, I am sure my joke (which is along the same theme) is worst than the previous one ;)

:agree:

-- Feedback == suicidal pea (or is it pee?)

:crazyeye: Can someone, please, confirm that? I :dunno:...

Oh, On emore thing.. These OCCs are really good. 1 minute / turn is a good pace to those who don't have that much time. ;)

Ok, I have a gripe for Mr Fox ... :gripe: ... where is the game log report?

Hmmm ... not sure I should take it as a compliment or criticism :hmm:?

Ruff: what's the point? #1: This is still warlords, so not your latest mod for BTS. Even at warlords, it is also not your latest mod :p (too lazy to download it). #2: there is absolutely nothing interesting not covered by the report that will be in the mod.

oops - forgot this isn't BtS. :D

The Bad Joke judge hasn't been well and has a turnset in his own game to play.

And, erm...

Knock Knock?

Who's there?

How.

How Who?

How can I make such a bad joke!

I'll update judging soon ;P

What's with the bad joke?

Wanna hear a dirty joke instead? ;)
