Fox06 - Waiting For Swords

Bad, BAD joke, shyuhe!

Well... That's awful... Now Hatty is the world's superpower. By this stage I'm used to be that person!
Ok, I got it for (hopefully) tonight. Will set research on Fiber Optics and see where we get from here. Should I bribe Hatty off Wang or not?

Hmm ... I see Shyuhe decided to go for FO before Robotics ... I would rather switch to Robotics now (as SE is much more important than Internet).

If we switch to Robotics, we can continue to produce research, then when Robotics come in, we start with SE while researching FO, once SE is done, FO iwill be completed to start the Internet. We can then use this time to research Refrigeration and then Genetics (for health). Once Internet is done, we can focus on Apollo and the space parts.

If we go for FO first, we will start Internet while researching Robotics. Robotics will finish first before Internet is done, so we can't start SE. Only after Internet completes can we start SE, then apollo, then space parts.

In terms of research, it is abt the same gain. But in terms of Wonder, there is a question of which we get first: Internet (a wonder which I'd rarely seen AI build, and is less important) or Beanstalk (a wonder which AI do try to get, and is more important). It's your choice, FB, but I will choose Robotics first.

By the way, the river which touches our capitol apparently doesn't count for Hydro plant, so we should complete the Coal Plant one turn before we are ready to build the next wonder (be it Internet or SE).

wow you guys are making me feel bad for pulling out that old hat... I figure it's at the same level as what's brown and sticky...

I thought SE requires both satellites and robotics? Or am I confusing my civ versions?

I just checked. SE requires satellites + robotics. So it won't be accessible for a while anyways since rocketry is 8ish, satellites is 10-12 and so is robotics.

Also, can't we burn the fusion GE on the SE? Hatty still doesn't have computers so she won't get robotics for a while.

I remembered someone saying they changed the requirements for Mr. Beanstalk in Warlords... Well, I guess I should head for the net while teching through robotics, right? Maybe the timing will be right...

Too bad about the hidro plant. Unhealthiness, here we go!

Turns played!

The joke:
Spoiler :
A customer arrives at the computer shop:
Customer: Hey, I'd like a copy of the internet
Clerk: Ok, sir. You just need a computer with a fax modem and an ISP. I can make it all for you, sir. Do you have a computer?
Customer: Ok, ok. I know what I'm doing. Just give me a copy of the internet into this floppy!
:mischief:

I don't have much to say. I was kinda in a hurry (Mrs. FB was about to get home) and I wasn't checking too much. I just hit enter 9 times to get Fiber Optics online. I did, of course, finish the Coal Plant in the last turn of research (had to MM a little. Without building research, the research wouldn't have finished that turn). We have a few health problems. Our fish and clam deals were canceled. I think the war did it. I also searched the map to see if someone had spare copper. Hatty has, Wang has and neither show on the trade screen. Maybe they're trading away to someone else. Hatty has vassals, but Wang... Well, I really don't know.
Hatty completed 2 SS Casings during the set. With the configuration I let the city (working all but one workshop), the city will starve by one food (we have 30 in the food bar), the net will be in 12 turns and robotics will be in 15, IIRC. This can be changed to happen on the same turn, but I think it's best to land the net and build research to accelerate Robotics. Then, when two people get satellites, we can start Mr. Beanstalk.
Hatty asked me to DoW on Wang, but I politely declined. He was supporting us with health until the end of the set... Now he's no longer.

I'm postponing this game for two weeks because of the SGs, the LHC, some open games, etc..... because I don't have enough currency to pay welnic for his game finishing service, I have to finish my own games

Loaded the Save, two comments:

- I see we are preparing to chop trees for Internet. I would advise leaving at least one of them around in each area for possible forest growth. In fact, I wouldn't recommend chopping for Internet since there is really no rush, plus we don't have copper, so those trees would enjoy less multiplier.

- There is still 30 turns until we starve, so hopefully we can get refrigeration (supermarket) before then to stop the starving.

Rolo, your jokes are becoming even funnier. Would you please try to leverage your bad joking skills???

Mr. Fox, the workers were sitting there in the beginning of my set. I kept them there but thought that 14 hammers wouldn't make a big impact on the net or whatever thing we're trying to build, even with all the boosters we have... I just forgot to mention it on my report..

Let's see: 14 + (Ironworks with coal and iron = 100%) + (Factory with power = 50%) + (Forge = 25%) + (Industrious = 50%) [if space parts: + (Laboratories for space parts = 25%) + (Aluminium for space parts = 50%) + (Space Elevator for space parts = 50%)] = 45 for wonder, 63 for space parts.

Pretty substantial, I think, almost 1/3 of our production per turn, whatever little helps in an OCC.

GreyFox, looks like having that problem with Warlords caused by the BtS 3.13 patch. I'll need to unistall/reinstall Warlords to play this and, because I have vitisors, I'm not sure that I'll be able to do that shortly ( not before 6 hours )... Maybe I'll need a swap

False alarm.... I sucessfully reinstalled Warlords :goodjob: But the game will have to wait some hours ( need to finish a home made DVD for family visitors .... [pissed] ) Maybe at 10 PM ( GMT +1 ) I can post the turnset

The bad joke ( hopefully the last one ):
Spoiler :
What do computers and women have in common?
Spoiler :
Both are expensive to run properly, never have the perfect configuration and there is always a newer and better model just around the corner...

The ( dull ) Turnset

Turn 4 – I noticed this:
Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0000.jpg

Not sure if this is good or not ( if Han captures it, it may revolt to us later.... )

Turn 5 – I was guessing this ( the GE to hatty is not good news as well )
Spoiler :
HanAsokapeace0000.jpg

Must keep a eye on Han....

Turn 6 - Hatty gets Hollywood.... I was afraid that she would rush the UN and force us out of Rep and Caste ( that is still a danger.... ).

Turn 7 – Wash wants us to go to war. No, thanks... You wont catch me twice on that one...
Spoiler :
Washrequestofwar0000.jpg

Hatty gets a GG

Turn 8 – Han finishes Apollo... maybe we focus in space and doesn’t attack us :please:

Turn 9 – Hatty captures a Korean city and vassals Wang.... This is not looking good at all

Turn 10 – Hatty got Plastics ( it is a matter of time until she gets TGD ). She is willing to declare on Han for Fiber Optics......

Turn 11 – Hatty wants Fiber Optics. My dear, the bad jokes are only for humans....
Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0001.jpg

Brennus broke free.... Time for war? Checked and he’s not with hands full ATM

Turn 12 – We discover the net .....
Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0003.jpg
DR, Demo, Fascism, Kommunisma, Mass Media, Flight and Rocketry ( I was hoping for Sattelites now, but.... ). Started Apollo ( 7 turns ) and upgraded some cossacks to Gunships

Turn 13 –Hatty want our sugar for hit movies. Yeah, help the superpower for nothing useful.....:p
Spoiler :
Hattywantssugar0000.jpg

Halted the game in 1926, with this:
Spoiler :
Robotics0000.jpg

Research set in Refrigeration (no beakers invested ). Hatty finished a casing. Units not moved, MM undone, GP in 9 turns (+/- 80% chance of not being a GA ). Wang has Sattelites, so it is a matter of time until Hatty gets it ( and us too ;) )

State of the world, 1926

The only thing that matters now, the F8 screen
Spoiler :
F80000.jpg

Thoughs

If this was a normal game, I would say the game is in the bag ( we possess the net and have some critical techs on everyone, and have Al (BTW, if we get a GA (hopefully not :please: ) maybe we should double bomb the capitol to secure the Al ) ). But this is a OCC and I do not know if we have the prod abilities to overcome a AI that already have 5 casings before we have Apollo done. I’m quite reluctant to foment wars with SS techs, but may be the only way of finishing this with a win.
I’m worried with Han. He never liked us and I normally feel quite nervous when a AI won’t talk to us ( can’t check if it has hands full ). The stack that he put against Asoka was fearsome ( should rebribe Asoka against Han or Brennus ) and we are in a critical stage of the game....
Let’s see if this does not come back to me ;) ...

Greyfox, it's all yours....
