Freeware popup blocker?

Zone Alarm. http://www.zonelabs.com (only the pro version has the popup blocker so it's not free)

Opera - Web Browser which is faster than IE in loading times and includes a built in popup stopper. http://www.opera.com

Popup killa - http://www.popupkilla.com/ - Never tried it, just did a google search on "free pop up blockers" and found that.

I use Outpost on and off, although I can't remember if it's freeware, shareware, time-restricted or what. I like it, though. It's very effective and customisable.

Oh yeah, when you install Kazaa Lite, you have the option to install a program called Supertrick - this will also block some ads and pop-ups and its free.

@Curt and Switch: I'm trying out the free version of Popup Stopper. It works very well for the front page of CFC. The only problem is that it also blocks me from clicking on a link which opens a new window.

Is this a problem circumvented only in higher (read not free) versions?

Hold down the CTRL key when clicking on a link that will open into a new window. That will bypass the popup blocking.
