Freeze on CHECK FOR UPDATES after patch

Hello all!

Is anyone else experiencing a freeze that necessitates a reboot when using the CHECK FOR UPDATES menu option? This started occuring after I installed the patch.

Before the patcj was available, it would respond with words to the effect that no updates were available. I was curious as to what the message would be if I checked with the patch already installed. Unfortunately, I get no message - just a frozen machine.

Anyone else have this issue?

Probably stating the obvious, but just in case, is ZoneAlarm underneath the Civ game?
I had to manually set my "Sid Meier's Civ...exe" to be trusted/changes often in ZoneAlarm.

Dang, sometimes it is the obvious. I'm running McAfee. I added it as a trusted app and it works fine now. I guess when the patch altered the game, my previous verification went invalid. Thanks!
