Shift+G will let you start a revolution to change your government, or if you just really like anarchy:crazyeyes

How do i make my game on a huge map go faster? It takes minutes in between turns. Should i delete excess stuff that takes up memory?
My computer fits all the requirements.

I have my cities all governor managing happiness, my workers all on auto, and no war, with about 300 years still to go, my between turns is damn fast, maybe 10 seconds maximum.

Ofcourse i don't have the same control anymore, but really what is left to be done is hardly going to make any difference to my game.

I have read the manual and cannot find an anwser to my problem. When i generate a leader, I cannot figure out how to use it to hurry production-I receive no promps when I enter a city building a wonder, and when I try to hurry production in the city display I get a message telling me it can't be done. Likewise when the leader is an a city the icon for building a army does not appear in the production menue. Does the leader have to stay in a city for a certain period of time before it can be used? any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance--Blee

There are no prompts, these are just abilities of the unit (like a worker can build roads, etc). When the leader is in the city there will be new action buttons for the new actions possible. Run your mouse over these new buttons while the leader unit is active (ready to move). You will only see the create army icon if there is a barracks in the city. The hurry improvement button will be there no matter what.

Maybe i just suck as the game, but i almost never am able to make my cities larger than size 12. Any suggestions. I irrigate all the flat areas and remove the forests and mine the mountains and hills. I got granaries to.

If you're playing on the easier levels than the computer is going to research really slowly and if you don't bother to fund science research nobody's going to get very far.

I had a game as the Iroqoius where i was using swordsmen and cavalry in 1996! My opponents were using similar units.

You go to scenarios and there are few already made maps of the world, but they suck. I suggest you download Marla's map from the download user-created maps section. Its a huge map but very accurate. And you can start the civs in the right spots.

Ok,granaries aren't the only ones that encourage city growth. By building an aqueduct you can reach a maximum size of 12. By building a hospital (requires sanitation and medicine ) you can then have an infinite city size. Actually, my problem is finding food to provide my cities when they reach a size of 40+...

Need help regarding upgrading the units. I have read the FAQ's and have followed the shift + U, but it does not work. I have built the Leonardo's Workshop which used to upgrade units automatically in Civ 2, but even then it does not do it. the obly way I can do it is to go to each indivudaul cities, and then right click on the units and then try to upgrade them. It becomes difficult and tedious to do this when you have 20 cities.

If any one can tell me a way to upgrade units automatically, I would really appreciate it. Thanks,
.:( :(

I don't believe there's a way to automatically upgrade your units but you can go to one of your cities and upgrade and then click the arrow at the top of the city screen which takes you to your next city. I believe its alphabetical.
Its easier than going to each city one by one.

And leonardo's worksop makes it cheaper to upgrade. So instead of costing 20 bucks it would cost 10.

Well, my problem is that when I try to run the game, I can see the intro video, but then I don't see the game menu. My screan goes black, but the game doesn't freeze, because I can still hear sound. What could this be? Any help apreciated. I guess it has something to do with the resolution the game is trying to set after the video intro. I'm running a Geforce Annhilator Pro on Win XP. Thanks

Turn off the animate allies moves and animate enemies moves in the preferences section (Ctrl-P). You can also turn off the show allies moves and show enemies moves but I wouldn't advise that because then it can be hard to see if the enemy is approaching.

Shift-U does work, but you need to have a unit activated in a city with a barracks. Only units that can be upgraded (ie are in cities with barracks) will get upgraded.

For the alternatives, instead of city-by-city, it is quicker to go to the military advisors screen, sort by unit and then right-click and upgrade each unit.
