Wish I lived in 1240BC... they had massive cottages back then :(

They'll be awfully distraught when they get to their capital and find it's in my hands

Well, I read somewhere that fur-on-plain was one of the more rare tile sets, well, here it is, times seven (Oh, I also had several barb spearmen in my last game :crazyeye: ).

Aha! I think that's because your starting position is in the northern polar region, and when the game puts a starting position in that kind of environment (either human or AI) it changes the tundra and ice to plains/grassland within range of the city fat cross so that you have a playable starting position. Looks like the fur that was in the tundra stayed when the terrain was changed to plain!

Looks like you are right, there is one plain/fur that is outside the BFC, but the one fur you can't see in that pic is a fur/tundra.

BTW, I popped bronze working from that hut, and as the romans, that was quite helpful, though it did make the game a bit too easy.

silly pacal, doesn't he know you have enough on your hands right now? *giggle*

Well there are essentially two Roman Empires now. The Holy Roman Empire and the Roman Empire... Still, that message does look pretty funny.

With enemies like this, who needs friends?

I've seen something like this before. Let me guess: Rome came to you first with a request to join in the fighting, you agreed, and then Pacal showed up right after whichever Caesar is in this game?

it's hysterical! pacal is at war with him, and at the same time asking him to go to war with somebody else! if there was EVER a time you have enough on your hands, it's when your current war victim wants you to go to war with somebody else, whether their name is similar to your civ's name or not! i'm dying giggling over this one

I bet when you say no he'll make the clutching at his head "Are you MAD?" gestures too.

My favourite Civ IV leaderhead gesture is still Washington's "Can you believe this guy?" head shake and exasperated look to whoever is on his right.

Absolutely correct. I was tempted to accept to see how the interface would bug out after I made a deal to join both of them in war against each other. I wonder if I would have gotten a simultaneous "-3 You declared war on us" and "+2 Our mutual military struggle brings us closer together"?

When I refused, the options changed to include 'Would you accept this deal?', but since there is of course no deal on the table, clicking that option simply flashes the screen and does nothing else.

The confusion with Rome vs. Holy Rome was an added bonus. To make it even more bizarre, a few turns later they all (Pacal, Augustus, and Frederick) declared war on me through the AP. :crazyeye:

That has got to be the strangest thing I have ever seen.... If you took him up on that offer does that mean that you would be getting both mutual struggle bonuses and 'why are you fighting us' penalties from both civs at the same time?
